Got this so I could look in my daughters ears so I didn’t have to waste a time going to the DR. I work in healthcare and compared to one that cost $$$ it gets the job done. Design of it is simple. You put batteries in the bottom and slide the side on. You put one of the disposable tips on and you’re set. Easy to hold nothing special there. Battery life is going to be based on the batteries you put in it. I probably won’t have to change my batteries for years unless you have to leave it on. For the price it’s totally worth it. You get what you pay for.

This is great to have at home! My kids were constantly getting earaches which eventually led to infections. I would take them to the dr only to have them sent home with nothing,, then have to retake them to urgent care later on. I had to get one of these to see if their ear were getting red or not to figure out when to take them to the dr. Works great and has saved me many round trips!

Cone doesn’t stay, light flickers.
Cannot get the cones to stay on the head, which is not very useful when you are trying to look into a 2 year old’s ears. Light quality is good but it flickers on and off. Can make it work, but wouldn’t buy it again.

It was a bit of a struggle to figure out how to put the bulb and batteries in because there were no instructions included, but once we sorted that out we found it to work very well. The light was bright and the optics surprisingly clear.

It’s not like one in a drs office, but it’s good enough to see if you child has a raging infection and needs to be seen right away, or if you can watch and wait (and avoid unnecessary doctors office germs!).It seems cheaply made, and it didn’t even work at first, but then suddenly started working. Comes with options for all different ear sizes, carrying case, and an extra light bulb. Does NOT include batteries! Overall happy with the purchase so far, as long as it continues to work.
