This blue hibiscus flower print sun dress is really nice for summer! It has short sleeves, a scoop neck and pockets! The dress is lightweight and a pull over style. The material is soft and a little stiff, but I think it will relax a bit with wear and washing. I am pleased and I can’t wait for the warmer weather to wear it.

I ordered this Zeagoo Womens Summer Midi Dress Casual Short Sleeve A-Line Cotton Linen Dress Flowly Beach dress because I liked the dark green color and the 100% cotton fabric.It’s been hard to find cotton clothing lately, and it tends to be pricey when I do. At the current price ($25.49) this is a nice deal for a dress that is 100% cotton. It’s worth noting that since the fabric is 100% cotton, this dress is not linen, as the sales page states. Linen is made from flax, not cotton. Perhaps the seller meant this fabric feels like linen; I had expected the dress to be stretchy, like a tee, but it is a lightweight fabric that has very little stretch.Being light and made of cotton, this dress breathes beautifully. Right now, in January, I wear it over leggings with a cardigan on top, but come spring and summer, it will be very cool and comfortable on its own for hot days.I ordered this in green; it’s a deep, rich color. The dress has a crew neck and gathered skirt with large patch pockets; I love the convenience of the pockets.I ordered a size L; I have an hourglass figure, larger on top. I wear a 6 in jeans, a S or M in leggings, but a M tee and a L in a button down blouse. It’s always tricky ordering a dress online; I ordered the L to be on the safe side. It’s a bit larger up top than I needed, but since it’s 100% cotton, I know it will shrink a bit over the years.The waistline is a touch high; it’s not quite empire, but it’s above the natural waistline. I’m glad I sized up to the L; a M might have wound up with the waistline right underneath the bust.I’m disabled, and I started wearing dresses as a sort of daily “uniform” a few years back. My spine is pretty messed up (fusions, spinal stimulator, spinal stenosis, degenerative disc disease) so clothing that is easy to put on and take off is a big plus in my book. This dress pops on overhead in about two seconds, and I’m done. Adding a cardigan is another couple seconds. I feel as comfortable as I would in pajamas, but dresses look nicer, and are better for my mood. It’s good to feel like I dressed up, it helps me focus at work (I’m lucky enough to work from home).This is a nice, basic dress. It’s so comfortable, I can take a nap in it mid-afternoon, which I sometimes have to do. Depending on how I style it, it can be fairly dressy (with a nice jacket or sweater over it and some jewelry) or very casual (with sneakers or flip flops in summer).

Real cotton comfort
The thing I like most about this dress is the fact it is 100% cotton. I’ve found that switching my wardrobe to natural materials like cotton and linen has helped cut down on sensory noise and makes my life generally just a little better. I ordered this dress in an XL, which might be considered oversized on my frame which is 5’4 and 145 lbs. I always buy clothes that are a size or two up due to my sensory preferences. I have included pictures for reference as to how this looks.One of the pics is the unaccessorized look, which is reminiscent of a house dress or perhaps a nightgown. The length is modest enough, though the collar can show a bra strap. I will just wear a layer underneath like a tank top. It has 2 generously sized pockets. When adding a belt, necklace, and shoes, the look becomes much more presentable for showing yourself to the world. My pics aren’t great because it’s hard to get a good angle with the phone and dressing mirror.The dress has gone through the washer and dryer just fine, which took out the wrinkles from being packed. The material is thin, but not see-through. It did not appear to shrink or fade yet. It’s not a soft jersey cotton like a t-shirt, but rather a somewhat stiffer material, and doesn’t have any real stretch. This is actually the kind of material I prefer – I am bothered by fabrics that are too silky, stretchy, or “fleshy” feeling. The material of this dress is somewhat like a crisp bedsheet.I took a few seconds to press the hem and sleeves. The hem had folded up on itself in some places, which is typical of real cotton. If you invest in a natural material wardrobe, a good steam iron is a must-have.This is a really good dress especially considering the price at the time of this review, which is about $25. I am considering ordering others even though right now it’s winter and this is more of a spring or summer dress. This is something I can also wear around the house and sleep in.

Yes: 100% cotton in a sort of faux linen texture.Yes: beautiful colorYes: comfortYes: pocketsYes: fits as expected as an XL (slightly baggy on me, what I wanted)Yes: would be wonderful to style with a belt (a definite to give it some shape) and/or a jacket/cardi on top. Worn denim always pairs well with this color, IMO.The waist is sort of empire-ish but kind of makes the dress shapeless. I may sew in a couple of darts to give the dress some fit because it does sort of skew Amish (nothing wrong with that at all but trying to illustrate the direction it goes). DEFINITELY needs accessories.
