A Must Buy for Brick Building Collectors! Beautiful, sturdy, quality, design and end result
If I could have given more stars I most certainly would! My boys and I have been doing lego sets for more than 10 years now, and whether lego brand or “off brand” we’ve attained alot of sets. This Lantern fish is sooo cool, and looks absolutely fantastic after it’s put together. It’s also much larger than I initially thought, and out of all the “machine” building block animals, this has been the most sturdy design, hands down!! My only issue, is the instruction manual. It’s a bit confusing, and because it’s not colored or has detailed instructions if was a bit challenging at first. The majority of the build is all the same colors, however the manual doesn’t give you any indication which pieces needed are brown, black, or gray color. We had several steps we had to to back to so we could swap out pieces, but even with the lack of a nice manual, I’d still give a 5. The overall design is soooo cool! Each brick snapped together solid and stayed tight, ensuring the total stability of the whole build. Because of the design of the rows of teeth, when you look at the final build in the dark with only the small light dangling in front of him, it’s beyond cool and a bit scary in the shadows. Great price for the quality you get!

Very Unique
Wow! This set has to be one of my favorites to date. It’s detailed, well designed, and somewhat challenging to build. The pieces fit together good for the most part and the instructions were easy to follow. No missing pieces to report on. I really enjoyed this build.

Unique Block Kit
I was happy to review this item just from the point of how unique it is. When received the box has amazing picture art that makes it great for gifting or collecting. When opened the manual is laid flat on the top with two large bags of parts. The instruction manual is detailed as showing pictures of each step along with pieces needed and placement. The pieces themselves being generic are good quality and fit nice n tight. Toward the end of construction some pieces get touchy but with a little skill it is easy to get through. All in all this was a fun kit and gets a solid 4 out of 5. I feel the $59.00 price tag at review time is the only CON that will hold this kit back. God Bless, Richard W.

Excellent kit!
This is a fantastic model – the best knock-off LEGO set I’ve encountered. In particular, what really sets this kit above the others is the quality of the plastic. It snaps together cleanly, holds together tightly, and feels robust while you’re handling it.The model is well-engineered to avoid falling apart, and the directions are pretty clear and easy to understand. The model is large and somewhat complex, certainly worth its price for the amount of time to build and the quantity of parts included. In particular, I was pleased that it doesn’t include a ton of fiddly little bricks jsut to increase the pieces count. Yes, there are a lot of little pieces, but the design is perfectly willing to use a single large block when that’s the best choice.I don’t think the bottom end of this model’s recommended ages are suitable, due to the complexity and quantity of pieces. 12+ is probably pretty safe. And it’s definitely fun and suitable for older teens and adults who enjoy model-building.It may be of note that the model’s glow isn’t very bright. It’s very comparable to similar models (both LEGO and knock-offs), but some customers may want to know that this model won’t function as a “lamp” on its own.
