Clients say
Clients discover the footwear have a pleasant colour and really feel snug. They are saying the dimensions suits effectively, the strap is unfastened, and so they run a few half measurement massive. The footwear are sturdy and are available many sizes. Many shoppers think about them nice worth for cash, although some are disillusioned with the arch help. There are combined opinions on sturdiness and cotton materials.

The ‘real’ thing!!
Firstly, I would like to state that these are definitely the ‘real’ thing with the hand-sewed insoles, unlike the knock-off’s that glue them in!Ok, so it had been AGES since I’d had any version of these shoes — more years than I care to think about. Easily over 20 years! And back then, I had worn the ‘men’s’ version for martial arts. They were SO comfortable and easy to slip on and off, and I wore them as street shoes, too! Comfy whether I wore them with socks or barefoot. I wore them until they started to fall apart, which was probably about 10 years after I got them! Those ‘men’s’ version I had bought at a local shoe outlet store in a bargain bin, for about 50 cents. Yes, you read that correctly! lolI don’t even remember the last time I had a pair of the women’s version: the mary jane’s! I’m sure I was just a little girl in the 1970’s at that time! So when I saw these, I fell in love with them all over again! 🙂 They are a simple style, simple materials, and practical…none of which should ever be thought of as a ‘bad’ thing. It’s so hard to find shoes these days that are made with COTTON, instead of all this synthetic fabric that make your feet hot and sweaty. Cotton BREATHES! These shoes are cotton just like the old days, and the insoles are hand-sewn just like the old days! Some may think that these shoes would feel hard as a rock, but they don’t — not at all. The layers of cotton that are hand-sewn together gives a comfortable, natural cushion to your feet. Don’t expect the fake cushioning (like memory foam) to be in these shoes. You’re not going to sink into a cloud of fluffiness that you find in so many shoes these days. And the lack of fake cushioning is NOT a bad thing, either. I find that all of the memory foam put into shoes these days start to destroy your feet. If your feet are already poorly aligned and misshapen from wearing shoes that don’t fit you properly, then foam will only form to that misalignment/misshapen form and keep you locked into that. Your feet will never be corrected. We were never really intended to wear ‘shoes’ anyway, especially not poorly designed shoes that are too narrow or have strong arches in them. I know that slippers that have memory foam always ended up messing up my feet by creating ‘arches’ due to too much padding. That is why I was so thrilled to find these shoes again: there are NO ‘arches’ in these. It’s the next best thing to being barefoot! The soles are very flexible, and surprisingly not slippery at all. I had forgotten that they *weren’t* slippery! lol So you do have some traction with these. :)Now, that I’ve raved about how much I love these and how awesome they are, I will say that I did have to return the size 6.5 because they were too small. I had read the reviews and the consensus had seemed that the black was accurate sizing. Perhaps theirs were, but mine was not. Mine fit more like a 6, I think. I am normally a 6.5 in shoes and a 7 in boots. So I do think you probably need to size up — unless you have a very narrow foot, perhaps. I have an average width foot and these were a tad too narrow at the edges of my big toes. Also my toes were right at the end of the shoe. Yes, the cotton can stretch with wear, but the sole isn’t going to get any longer, lol. So I have returned them and ordered a size 7, and also a 7.5. I think the 7 will be ok, and I wanted to try a 7.5 for when I want to wear socks with them. Because let’s face it: these are too cute and comfy to be for one season only! 😉 (I also plan to wear them as house slippers!)I’m so happy to have found these shoes again, and once I know my correct size I will be buying more colours! 🙂

Beautiful mary janes
I just received these and I am impressed with the quality and how well they fit. I wasn’t expecting much for the price, but I am blown away by how they feel and look. I haven’t worn them, so I don’t know how long they’ll last, but they appear to be very sturdy. I am definitely buying more.

Perfect summer shoe
Here are all of my thoughts on these shoes and I hope you find it helpful!Pros: they are inexpensive compared to other brands with the same style, lightweight (it honestly feels like you’re walking barefoot because they are so light), I haven’t found that my feet sweat in them even in very hot weather because they’re made of cotton, the sole is sturdy and not flimsy, they’re easy to slip on and off, and they’re just a lovely addition to my wardrobe adding a pop of color and a classic Mary Jane style.Cons: there’s no arch support with these shoes so you probably couldn’t wear them for an entire day if you’re on your feet constantly, the stitching on the inside of the pair I received was loose so the fabric on the inside is coming up a bit near the toes (of course that may not be the case for all of them, but it’s something to look out for when you receive them).Overall, I am well pleased with these lovely shoes and have already ordered a second pair in another color!

cute but maybe not the most durable.
I love the design of these. The material is definitely on the cheaper side. The clasp was not working properly on the pair I received, which is why I sadly had to return them. While these look cheaper immediately upon arrival, they are super cute on and surprisingly more comfortable than you’d think. However, they provide little to no support if that is something you need or are looking for. But they will definitely make your outfit cute! I would rebuy in hopes of not getting a pair with a design flaw.

Just Like I Remember
I used to wear these all the time in University. They are exactly the same as I remember – completely flat, no support and yet, somehow, perfect. They are comfortable enough that I can walk all day in them from day one, and they are cute enough to go with jeans or a dress. They are COMPLETELY FLAT with no padding, so don’t expect them to feel like trainers, but they are still well worth the purchase for me.

Everything I’ve been looking for
I have a hard time finding shoes that fit correctly and feel comfortable and I’m so happy I found these. They’re lightweight and breathable, I really love the cotton soles. I normally wear an 8.5 wide, and I’m really prone to issues with the toe box not being wide enough in shoes, I sized up to a 9 and there’s a good amount of wiggle room. The strap fits well, even loose a bit but it’s not bothersome, and the material is soft and feels durable. I’m rough on my shoes so time will tell how well they hold up, but for the price I can’t complain.

Reminiscent of the shoes I used to buy in Chinatown
I lived in NYC many moons ago and I used to buy these all the time for like $10 bucks. I loved that they were easy to slip on and generally fit my very wide feet. They offer zero support (which is fine for me since I only wear barefoot shoes now) but they are minimalist and adorable. I trade these out for my flip flops in summer for some variety. The color was a perfect nice berry color and for as hard as I amon shoes they hold up decent for how basic they are. I am a solid 7.5 with very wide feet and they are only a smidge tight across the top (I also have very high arches) but after a few wears they tightness has subsided. If you love a minimalist shoe that looks adorable and reminds you of your younger years grab a pair! Hopefully they will go on sale at some point and mirror their $10 Chinatown days!
