I bought this to replace the cord to my fishtank light, that my cats chewed. It works fine but for some reason it doesn’t fit snug in the plug, I use a smart plug so I am able to set the light on a timer but can no longer use the smart plug because it just falls out.

I rescued fish from a bad situation and have had a crash course in learning about aquariums. Have a 36 gal TopFin bow-front aquarium and the hood light had clearly never been used (the cord was still in twist ties. The AC adapter was missing so I purchased this one. It works great! The light has functioned well and brightly for several week now. HOWEVER, the adapter where it plugs into the wall gets super warm to the touch, and makes me nervous about leaving it on during the day. Feels like a fire risk. Can’t figure out why – the amps and voltage match the light- is it the wattage?

This will not power a cheap light or a fluval light. I verified on 3 known good lights. It will turn on the power button but will not power the led lights on. I will be looking into and returning the product and hunt for a real fluval adapter.

Works great! One of the light switches for my aquarium hood lights started to frey and stop working properly. So I ordered this in hopes of getting rid of the actual switch all together. As my tanks are already on timers. And it worked out perfectly.
