Ken Yukimura –
The transient phenomena in pulsed power circuit expressed by calculations.
why rating: all of the phenomena are expressed by equations. Readers who know fundamental pulsed power technologies would find technological meaning of pulsed power phenomena through the discussion based on the calculations.Like or dislike: I like it because many of the pulsed power phenomena are shown by calculated values, and the book is based on the Laplace transformation. This is easy to obtain equations and answer without big mistakes.Recommend: engineers and researchers in the practical fields of manufacturing.

Pretty good pulsed power intro book
“Transient Electronics” gives you a basic understanding of many important pulse generator components: t-lines, PFLs, PFNs, Marx banks, and Blumleins. This book gives a much, much better explanation of these topics than “Introduction to High Power Pulse Technology” by Pai and Zhang, which I had the misfortune of using as a text in an undergraduate course. As a bonus, “Transient Electronics” covers pulse transformers and magnetic pulse compression. Unfortunately, the book does not cover many related but fundamental pulsed power topics such as gas switching, insulation breakdown, and diagnostics. Also, I was dissapointed by the relatively scant coverage of Marx banks (about 10 pages), given these devices’ extreme importance to the field. Still, this is a great book, especially after struggling with the Pai and Zhang text.
