I use these high value treats for nail trimming time!
We love Stella & Chewy products and have been buying their products for many years now. This particular treat we consider a high value treat for our pups and we use it for the dreaded nail trimming time. One of our rescues was NOT thrilled with nail trimming time when we first got him but after he realized how many delicious treats he gets after each paw’s nails are trimmed up, he decided he would allow it. ;o)

My Czech Shepherd will not eat dog biscuits and I only buy the healthy ones from the animal health food store here, but these training treats….. when he hears the bag open, he knows it’s training and treat time. lol He loves these and amazingly last a long time as I only reward him with praises, but training him to salute or even training on the treadmill, these make it easier.

Not Crunchy, true, definitely NOT VERY SOFT, either.
I bought these treats for my senior Yorkie. She LOVES bacon. I was pretty surprised that she didnt find them enticing, I thought she’d be practically drooling. Since the 1st & 2nd ingredients are bacon & duck, I figured she’d be really excited…not so much. She’s an old gal, she just had a dental cleaning & several back teeth pulled, also. Vet said “no greenies for 8 wks”… only very soft treats because of the stitches and the bone weakness til it heals. We’ve got 3 more wks. I’ve bought Stella & Chewy’s products and she’s always enjoyed them. It said soft treats. I suppose you could say, soft as opposed to crunchy, but they’re really not that soft, but not as hard as a greenie. I had to cut them. They were to hard to break in half with out jamming my fingernails into them. If u want something especially soft, for an older dog, I’d recommend that you make a different choice. They’re just not “soft treats”. I cut them in half & they still were a problem. Once I got them into quarters, she liked them. I assumed they’d be rather soft as bacon is soft. Duck is soft. The other ingredients are things like oatmeal, sorghum and glycerine. I think if she had all of her teeth she’d have enjoyed them but lost several teeth on the top, backside of mouth and some bottom ones so it looks like she has difficulty w them. I know this is a little long but I only wrote this in case someone else also was looking for senior snacks for a small dog with few teeth left. It’s a little specific, but I’d have liked to know. I’d recommend for younger/adult dogs even puppies for training treats (if they’re not really tiny dogs.) They’re about the circumference of a regular tootsie roll & prob just under 1/2” long. Hope that helps someone. 🐾

My dog really likes these. They also are a perfect size and nice and soft. They have a stronger smell to them, that make them great for nose games. We love hiding them around the house and our dog has to try to find them. She loves this game so much.

Not sure if this is normal as it has never happened to dog treats before, but they turned mouldy really quickly and unfortunately, I had to throw out the bag not long after I opened it

Since they changed the formula they are super crumbly, I end up with powder treats at the bottom of the treat bag, I’m so disappointed. I will not buy again.
