Nice for Quick Trims
These are good for trimming our dogs. Not too sharp however, but they still work well. The rounded scissors are good for trimming the pads of the feet and around the face.

Perfect for pet or yourself
We have a Shepsky – husky/shepard – & while her fur is actually pretty short for her mix, she does get pretty long fluffs around her paws. If I don’t trim out her paw pads, she licks them more, I assume they get itchy, dirty & tickle, plus boy do they get pretty stinky & yeasty. Removing the hair makes them easier to clean & there is less frito factory around her tootsies. Sheppa does not like clippers though, so silent scissors it is. I saw this little set & thought it would be nice to use on her, but I also wanted it for myself & my husband. My husband trims his own hair usually & I go back over it with shears to blend everything nicely. I also like to trim the ends on my hair between cuts or touch up my angles in the front. My mom also always calls me to come cut her hair; her last few experiences at a salon were not great, & she knows I know what she wants done. I saw this set & thought it would be great to have around. I have a nice pair of straight shears, but a good curved set & hair thinning set comes in handy too. They come in a nice little case. It fits everything easily & has a good zipper. Each pair of scissors comes in it’s own plastic casing as well & I’ve kept them in them so far.As soon as I opened this thing, my husband ran away with the comb. It’s a metal comb with a good weight to it. Easy to clean, & he likes that it has larger & smaller gapped teeth. It feels durable & hefty. If you are using it on fur, it could easily make it through longer tresses & tangles without bending or breaking teeth. Because it’s metal, the tips of the teeth can be harder & sharper than usual plastic combs, so be careful using it too firmly on yourself or a pet.If you’ve ever cut someone else’s hair & told them to look down to trim the back, you know that when they look up again they hair in the middle will then be longer than the rest. Instead of cutting straight, when you have someone looking down you cut in more of a crescent shape. So then the line is actually straight when they look up/ forward again & you don’t miss any hair underneath because they still were looking downward. I’m not a stylist, this is just a tip I picked up from one & have applied to my experiences. I knew I’d like this set for this reason. The curved pair of shears is perfect for this when cutting my mom’s or hubby’s hair. They have the perfect bit of curvature to them for bangs also. These work great to trim out our pup’s paw area too & follow the angles of her foot. They would also be wonderful for trimming ear fluffs.I like the safety at the tips. The fact that they are not sharp at the very end means I’m not worried about poking Sheppa, or my occasional wiggly husband. These scissors have some weight to them. They open & close smoothly & are easy to hold & use. I like that you have the ability to take the two sides apart (since scissors do not have the ability to unscrew). That means they can be cleaned better, but mostly is useful for sharpening. The other set is equally as well made. It’s perfect from thinning out thick tresses or fur. Groomers would use this set on ear fluffs or a tail, etc. For me, this set is perfect for blending together the sides & top of my husband’s hair. I can merge the lines of the different size clipper guards very easily this way. I like to use this set on my own hair as well. After I freshen up the angles around my face with straight shears, I go back in with these just right at the edge. It gives it a razor cut look & makes the cut look less “perfect” in a good way. I have not used this pair on our dog because she just doesn’t have an area that needs any thinning.I know these say “professional”, but for that price of your own a dog, or a head of hair lol, just get these to have around. I expect to get tons of use from these scissors.

Okay scissor set. Not super sharp.
The scissor set is okay for the price and would meet the needs of most people at home grooming their pets. I have two course haired dogs that I groom at home (bouvier des flandres and a giant schnauzer). The scissors don’t like my bouvs hair but work okay but were fine on the schnauzer’s silkier hair.If you have larger hands look for a different set. I have small hands and the scissors are almost too small for my hands. Otherwise they’re an okay set for someone looking to trim up their dogs hair.

Outstanding
The Professional 3 in 1 Dog Grooming Scissors Kit with Safety Round Tips, Sharp and Durable Pet Grooming Shears for Dogs and Cats is outstanding to have especially if you own a doodle! We have a Bernedoodle and we live in the woods. She is always getting stuff stuck in her coat, she’s like Velcro. This kit is fantastic because it has everything you need in one tiny pouch, it’s easy to take with, clean-up is simple, price is fantastic and so easy to use because they’re shorter than the others. The wide tooth comb is perfect for getting down to the skin to get everything out of her coat, like burrs and foxtails, and removing any matted fur. The thinning shears are great when she gets stuff like pine sap in her fur. Instead of having to cut out all the fur, I’m able to just thin it and remove the top layers. The regular shears work well for trimming the hair around on her feet and her eyes. This is where I like the smaller size because I was just never comfortable using the longer shears around her eyes so when it was getting close to her next grooming, you couldn’t see her eyes. Now I’m able to trim around her eyes without worry. If you have a long-haired dog, a dog that likes to get messy, or you’re a doodle owner, I highly recommend this set. The price cannot be beat!
