Low cost alternative to Nike
This is a reorder from 2 years ago, when I first bought this shoe, so that shows that I like the shoe. For me, I didn’t want to buy Nike, for the politics, and decided to try this brand. It’s a basic sneaker, but it’s pretty comfortable to wear, and doesn’t hurt my feet. The insole feels like gel, and is soft and supporting, and the outer sole is quiet when walking on wood floors, and has great traction on wet surfaces. The upper is well built, and the material never cracked or stitches never came loose or failed. The lower is molded rubber, or synthetic rubber, and the bonding never failed between the upper and lower parts of the shoes. My feet don’t sweat in them, perhaps it’s my Thoros socks that prevents that, and the shoe laces are about to break on my old pair, which is why I bought the new pair, well because I’m too lazy to clean up the old pair for my trip to Vegas next week, so I bought the new pair. Ever try to buy replacement show laces, well they are all made in China now and they are thinner and smaller, and I find it impossible to buy OEM laces for shoes now days, thus new shoes. It’s a low cost sneaker that is high in quality and fit. And is pretty low key in not screaming wealth.

Comfort, Support, Quality, Great Price…what’s not to like?
I am very selective with athletic shoes. I’m 6’3 and have a high arch and am an older adult. I’ve tried so many of the newer style shoes only to find they are not torsionally supportive. These shoes are extremely comfortable out of the box and only get better as they break in. The arch support is good and construction is excellent. They also the sportiest looking of the dad shoe lineup which includes the Nike Monarch and the New Balance 608 and the Avia Trainers. I find the Skechers to be more comfortable than any I’ve tried. Also the heel cushioning has enabled me to double my walking distances with zero foot pain. If you’re on the fence, give these a whirl you will be happy you did. I’ve not found any of the negative reviews to be correct at least in the pair I purchased. These are also nice on the court for tennis and pickleball I’ve not tried them on the wood gym floor but assume they will be good there as well. Lastly due to the excellent torsional support, stairs and uneven objects are easy to navigate with a solid feel.

Nice sneakers, good look and Skechers name, soft insoles and warmer than most.
I never liked buying shoes online, but have been lately since I can not find basic traditional looking shoes like this in my local area. These fit well, but do feel a tad loose sometimes, and so I need to tighten the laces at times. I can slip these on, but I think over time, the rear will crush down. Right now the back heel pull is solid, so easy to slip on. Insoles are soft, but being memory foam, they crush easily, and only really feel comfy when you first put them on. After all day, the foam crushes flat, and gives less comfy support. I like the shoes, and are my goto shoes when going outside to do a chore or something. I also wear them to work. These are a bit warmer so nice for winter. Not as breathable so I imagine in a hot climate your feet will sweat a lot. Good for cooler weather. Laces are nice easy to tie, enough length! Also these shoes were prelaced perfectly. I usually have to pull laces and redo them, but not this time. I paid around $35, so was a great price for Skechers, and worth it. So far they have held up well, no pulling apart at glue spots on soles like some higher priced shoes. I am har don shoes sometimes! The Arch support is medium, not great, but fits my foot well, so I am happy. Sole seems a harder plastic and less flexible, so the shoes do not flex as well as some more expensive lite weight models. Might last longer due to the hard materials? Good value for the price I paid!

Typical well fitting Skecher, that DOES have some quality control issue
Jan 27 2023 – Well i admit i wasn’t wearing these “everyday” doing Hurricane Ian repairs here but … I am shocked that these while ugly on the bottom (not a big deal) are still in great shape around the side and top .. i mean they are beatup but not ripping or tearing or any of that. I have a different model of Skechers that does have some issues already and I barely wore those ones. (for the record they could be fixed easy if contact cement didn’t say triple in price lately) … this isn’t my favorite STYLE/model of Skechers but they look decent and like i said they are holding up better than even I expected as a Skechers fanSept 18, 2022 – I still dont think the bottoms should be in the condition they are in but they are holding up better then my non-Skechers (my Filas to be exact that with alot less wear on them time/mile wise) … really they would be tossed out by others, but these are my daily walking a few mile sneakers (the Fila’s for when I know i may have to step in mud, since i care less about these in worse condition) … and i think i had to do one repair with ShoeGoo … REALLY a “this looks like it’s getting thin” area by my toes … sort of a preemptive fix.Overall i am happy with this purchase … i have a pair that I like the look of more from Skechers, that the back of the shoe insole had moved away from the heel and developed a rip ( a small one but still one that shouldn’t happen with LOW wear) already … these are still not ripping anywhere… just from time to time the bottom part (what I already mentioned in my first review) starts to flap up after a few months of constant use. Also that area that got thin, that i fixed before it developed a hole is a thing … but eh …. I like these sneakers.———————————-April 14 2022 – Just put SoftCOmfort (cheap Walmart double thick insoles) in after the area near ball of my left foot (big toe where it connects to my foot) started feeling like it could be supported better … and the heel of both sneakers at the bottom started ripping … I have seen some folks throw sneakers in the trash when this started happening and …. I CANT do that … it’s not that big of a deal … I could have even skipped adding these insoles I had laying around anyway … but “eh why not” was my thought … before the insoles the memory foam in those two (well three … heel of both sneakers) areas started to not feel as supported vs when they were brand new… but they weren’t bad feeling … they DIDN’T hurt or anything…. If they did I’d just say it…. these insoles I have added I have used (this brand) for years and make my sneakers feel like slippers comfort wise.April 1, 2022 Update: (wearing regularly for a few mile walks in Florida, since I got these in September 2021)I removed some rambly prior updates in the review … basically I just have to remember to bring up that the bottom blue surface and the white part it’s suppose to be adheared to did not seem to have ANY adhesive on it at all when I did my first repair … not like “not enough” but none at all from the look of BOTH surfaces. Not counting a single time I had to re-repair one of the pieces that started (not as bad as it was in the first place, and didn’t effect my few mile walk that day … I just had most of a small bottle of contact cement left … so “why not repair it?” … that maybe was at the end of Feburary and it’s been fine since. They are starting to look REALLY worn as … I wear them a lot (so that is too be expected) … but nothing else is coming apart or falling off or whatever. I am not a huge fan of the design by the midde of the foot (TOTALLY cosmetic here … JUST the way they look) versus other Skechers I have but considering I bought these for $18 or so from what I remember … that is a steal of a price … and yeah if you like the look, I’d say these are worth a bit more than that but also I always get my Skechers on sales, so I never pay more than $45 or so for them. These surprised me … for that price and even though I love Skechers as they are my go-to brand … these were a “eh … great price for these … they will be a knock-around backup pair” sort of thing ….. I have put a lot of wear on these and unlike my Filas that are still “ok” but with a lot less time and about the same wear (say in 3 to 4 months for those) the entire front was splitting apart for no reason … and many others had the same exact issue for those. These don’t look great now but … it’s normal wear and tear … like how “an old pickup truck” may be used a lot and it may have faded paint, and some rough spots, but it is totally dependable and “gets the job done”I do love Skechers and even have a family memober who is a former “New Balance only” guy who after trying Skechers, is a Skechers fan now.I admit the peeling problem should NOT have to be repaired but it’s a simple fix, and if you don’t have contact cement … 100% shop around and you can find a small bottle with a brush for like $5. I have seen many people throw these sneakers out and really a $5 bottle of contact cement (some planning ahead on using it) and say 2-3 minutes, will make these sneakers a-ok IF they have that issue—————————-Original ReviewFirst I want to preference this by saying that I have only worn these out once and typically have great luck with Skechers as the are (even after what I say here) are my “go to” brand but I’d at no point would claim they are perfect. I just have the best luck with Styles I like. prices (on sales), and durability with Skechers. These sneakers, I almost didn’t get but after my old (first model Skechers I ever bought) White/Navy Afterburn haven’t been on a good sale for years, and I saw a “used-Very Good” pair of these pop up at what was a TOTAL of $18.50 or so … I took a chance and at first when I gave them a look-over it seemed a-ok … though there was an odd smell I never smelled before (again these are used, I know i know…. but other than the smell, these SEEMED new condition)The problem was before the first time I WAS going to wear the pair I got out … just like some of the negative (say some with pictures of the problem) reviews say .. the very bottoms seem to come unglued … now I admit it was only a small part but .. I decided that while I would have returned these if i paid full price … I would just fix these for the price i paid… I just used a little $5 container of contact cement I have and on the small area that was already coming apart, i patched that up … and the next day (the fix holding a-ok even after the first walk) when I wore these out, they seemed like a typical pair of Sketchers with memory foam… and I love that.Style wise, I do like the Afterburn model more .. really it’s the two black-ish stripes that I wish were more of a solid black color, but I still like these. Another thing style wise I missed looking at the first official Amazon picture was the lettering behind the “S” and right below the back-most “stripe” that I just mentioned on the outer part of each sneaker… not sure why that was put there … it seems off .. like they just (Skechers that is) stamped the model number there for no reason. I don’t hate it, and I am not trying to sound like I am over-reacting to that, but it’d just look better without that there.Comfort wise … well there is a reason other than the price, I go with Skechers … I am not 100% sure (that pair of black non-memory foam Skechers HAS Issues … and they are from 2017 with off and on wear) but comparing a non-memory foam Skechers which I loved years ago to a few different models now that have the Memory Foam… yeah … I notice the difference and LOVE the memory foam. I do have sneaker insoles to use if/when the memory foam goes bad but … unlike some reviews I have seen … I’d NOT consider the cloth right above the foam ripping a tad, to mean “the sneakers are ruined” … especially if it happens after a few months of daily use.I think Skechers has better styles out there, but that is not only subjective but I have to say I have seen some odder styles then this pair from even Skechers (again my go-to brand).I dont mind fixing the bottoms, but I shouldn’t have had to already (** i know i got a used pair) … but if that sort of SIMPLE fix is all that is needed, I am not upset … I (and a family member who used to be a New Balance only guy, who is now buying SKechers too) have had the same problem happen worse with other brands. So far, (noting I am not sure how much I will wear these right away…. I want to have a good pair of White Skechers for down the road and that price … I couldn’t pass up) I’d recommend them… but of course I cant speak for THESE exact ones long term just yet.

This is the second pair of Sketchers that I’ve owned, and I after two weeks of wearing them on a daily basis I can definitely recommended them to anyone who is looking for a pair of lightweight and super comfortable trainers. The materials throughout are of a high quality and the memory foam insoles are just so comfortable….it’s like walking around outdoors in my slippers :0)I also like the fact that there are no materials on the outside that are made from textile like fabric, but leather, which can be easily cleaned with a damp cloth.I ordered my shoe size 43 and the fit was perfect. Sketchers have now become my ‘go to’ brand when looking for trainers….comfort, quality and value….what more can I say?

My husband loves these trainers. He had blisters on his feet with some other makes but since wearing Skechers he has no problems. He walks a lot. Would recommend them.

Die ersten 2018 in Kanada gekauft. Nur zum Sport getragen. Gelsohle und Federung haben merklich nachgelassen. Die Neuen passen perfekt, Größe 47, sehr gelenkschonend.
