Excellent for wireless rear surround speakers.
I had an Amphony wireless transmitter/receivers for 5 years. My right rear speaker amp/receiver stopped working. Decided to buy Rocketfish. The differences are the Amphony transmitter allows to setup a 7.1 rear speaker system (2 sets of rear speakers or rear speakers and front presence speakers) and Rocketfish transmitter allows only 1 set of rear speakers for a 5.1 rear speaker setup because if I understand this correctly the transmitter and receiver are factory designated for that specific transmitter and receiver set. When I buy front presence speakers I will have to buy another Rocketfish kit. The Amphony has a receiver/amp for each speaker with volume control, the Rocketfish has 1 receiver/amp for both speakers with 1 volume control to both speakers as shown on their information sheet. Amphony amp was 80 watts, Rocketfish amp has two 25 watts per speaker. Amphony is not selling its wireless kit anymore.Installing/setting up Rocketfish was easy, instructions are good. Pairing the transmitter to receiver was the easiest, quickest and automatically connected itself without my pressing any buttons. I have rear passive Cerwin bookshelf speakers so I would like to have more than 25 watts receiver/amp, 50 watts would be better to have more volume control difference between front speakers and rear speakers. I have the receiver/amp volume knob to max. When I increase or decrease my TV audio receiver volume, the rear speaks are always slightly lower volume. If the Rockfish receiver/amp had 50 watts per speaker, this wireless system would be one of the better systems for passive speakers. As said in other reviews this is wireless between the audio receiver and the speakers. The rear speakers are wired to the receiver/amp and plugged into wall socket or surge protector as I have it. I recommend it.

User error overcome, unit works great!
Works like a charm, as good as I hoped.Previously I was using speaker cables to run from my receiver, directly across the living room floor, to under my couch to the rear speakers. I had covered the wires with a carpet. It was ugly. The carpet had bulges were it covered the (thin) wires. I hated it.I didn’t want to buy a set of wireless speakers because I’ve a full set of Bose cubes. I’d either end up with cheap sounding speakers, or have to spend a ton on decent ones. Since I already had good speakers, I liked for a transmitter / receiver system. I had a couple different ones in the past to send TV signals to different rooms in my house, so I figured there would be one for speakers.Surprisingly there were few! At least for a reasonable price.So hook up was pretty quick. Always a pain to pull out my receiver to get to the back for the speaker hook ups, but that’s not this products fault.Once I had it hooked up, I did the pairing and got a good solid link.But I got no sound from the rear. At all. Volume on the unit turned up. Nothing.Looked on line, stumbled across someone having the same problem I had. The problem was me! I didn’t read the directions closely and mistook the transmitter for the receiver unit! (the transmitter is the smaller unit of the two)Once I swapped them and re-paired them to each other (like, press a button) everything worked great!It’s been a bit since I bought this unit, still works great.

Absolutely fabulous for rear surround speakers
I actually already had one of these systems for my living room surround system, but added another for my bedroom surround speakers… I consider myself to be someone who is serious about sound quality, but not an audiophile, but I’m thoroughly impressed with the sound quality from this system for movies and even for music (Tidal lossless) I highly recommend this system for anyone who doesn’t want to run rear speaker wires…

Solved my problem of getting sound to my rear speakers without running wires across the room
So far the unit is performing as expected. I was able to hook up my rear speakers without having to run wires across my room. ( I needed a solution like this since my room has cathedral ceilings and the floor below is finished and I did not want to tear up the ceiling below the room to run wires. Also I did not want to run wires around the doors and windows in my room). It was easy to setup and get working. My system was able to calibrate the rear speakers and the surround sound is working. The only issue I have is that the unit is mostly plastic and looks very cheap. I am not sure how dependable it will be over the long run. It seems as though it would be very easy to break the plastic tabs you use to secure the speaker wire if I had to move the system. Also, the speaker wire that comes with it is very thin. I am not an expert on audio and have not run any tests to validate how accurate the sound reproduction is when using this unit. But for my setup, it works well enough.

Bought as Replacement for Earlier Model – ‘It ‘Works’
Earlier Rocketfish RF-WHTIB quit after 7.5 years of being constantly powered, so no complaints. The RF-WRSK18 replacement arrived in two days with clear instructions (which is more than I got from Rocketfish customer support regarding its predecessor). Both sender and receiver connected instantly – two solid blue lights! – without even a press of rear mounted ‘Connect’ buttons on each. I wall-mounted sender behind cabinet rather than drop it among the jungle of growing wires and also hung the receiver on a rear wall. Wall-mounting discloses an oddity: the Rocketfish name-logo is upside down on each – screw shanks can’t slide and lock with either unit right side up. No bigee but this leaves on/off switches and receiver volume control on the bottom and inconvenient to reach. This hookup is only hours old but so far, so good. The mild nuisance of turning off nightly mightl bring ten years of use this time. :o)

As you can see, the device can be mounted neatly out of sight. Allowing for a simplistic allure to the residence.I performed a sound test, the left and right are independent channels from one another. 😍

This product does not work at all tested thoroughly. No connection can be made to the speakers. Garbage product…..Technical support with Rocketfish is like pulling teeth…….
