Great game!
Gave this gift to a fan of Catan and found this game to be a great mix of Catan/ticket to ride/7 wonders. It was easy enough to feel like we had a decent idea of what we were doing after watching a tutorial and reading the directions, and fun with that we wanted to play again right away. Feels like this will be our go to game for the foreseeable future.

Fun, strategy but looks like alot
First off I want to say that I love this game! This game is a fun building game that adds a card mechanic that helps to decide what to do you on your turn. The first time my group played it they didn’t enjoy it. It was my first time playing it as well though, so I had to explain a lot. The second time when they could just play and not have to be explained everything they enjoyed it ALOT more. If you want a simple game, that you really don’t need to think to much this might not be for you. But if you like a good strategy game that doesn’t make you want to slam your head against the wall look no farther. Oh yeah while I like many part one part about this game I really like is that even though there is a point track around the board it doesn’t get used until a the end of the game. I love that because in some other games when you are in last place and the winner has a huge lead if feels like why continuing playing, but here nobody know who is winning so you can keep playing as much as you like without having point monster hanging over your head.

One of my new all time favorites
This is a rare game that satisfies so many areas incredibly well. It’s easy to learn, but has lots of depth and tons of replay value. It’s one of the few economic games that works well with all player counts, and is a favorite for my girlfriend and I to play two-player. It’s competitive without ever causing bad feelings, since there’s no direct combat or aggression. Generally all of your turns are either simply improving what you have, or improving what you have along with the other players. I highly recommend this game for people who want to entertain friends who get scared by ‘heavy’ games but want something with interesting decision making that won’t take all evening.

I like it, but I don’t love it……
I like this game and may end up giving it more stars after a couple more plays. I’ve played one 2-player game and one 3-player game.Concordia is set in the Roman Empire 2,000 years ago and depending on which side of the board you choose, you will be traveling around either Roman Italy or the Roman Empire. As you travel, you set up trading houses which enable you to produce goods. This is a card-drafting game and what you are able to do on each turn depends on the cards you have in your hand. Your options increase as the game progresses and you draft more cards. Unlike most games I have in my collection, you do not score points during the game. All scoring is done at the end of the game. Each card represents a god (Jupiter, Venus, Mars, etc….) and will have a criteria for scoring as well as an action. The game ends when the last card has been drafted or a player has built his last trading house. In the two games I played, the cards ran out long before anyone had placed all their trading houses.The things I like about this game are:* the scoring mechanism – it’s tricky to know which cards to draft as the card containing the action you want may not be the card with the scoring criteria you want.* the game flows very smoothly, turns do not take that long* the cards are large and sturdy* the play-time of about an hour or so is just right for this type of gameThe things I don’t like about this game are;* the box – it’s ugly and an awkward size* I wish there were more variety of actions. The cards you draft are mostly repeats of cards you already have with a few exceptions.I like this game, but I don’t love it. If someone wants to play, I’m happy to play with them but I don’t think I will be suggesting it often as I have too many other games I enjoy more.UPDATE: I’ve played this game several more times and at different player counts. I can barely remember what I didn’t like about it. I’m giving it one more star. It’s not in my top 10, but I really do enjoy the game. My earlier review complained about the lack of variety in the cards. While it might be nice to have more variety, it would also make scoring muddier. I’ve discovered that a big part of the challenge is figuring out which cards to work towards for optimal scoring.

Fun family game
This was a surprisingly great purchase. My husband and I along with our preteen boys all enjoyed this game. It’s competitive, but not so much that anyone got angry with anyone else like when someone blocks someone on Ticket to Ride. You can always change your plans easily. It’s actually a relaxing game.

Writing this, I can see a small collection of about two dozen different board games I enjoy, yet rank and file above them, I must rank Concordia.The turns are fast, the tension is real, the decisions are interesting and constant, the interplay between players is competitive yet quixotically friendly…there’s just not another game like it. Not in theme, not even in gameplay. No, Concordia stands head and shoulders amongst it’s peers because it simply excels at…well, every single thing it does. Finer tuned than an expensive watch, and more balanced than just about anything on the market.Concordia is a game I love to play, yet it also proves a game I love to share. You have to play it. You just have to. Why are you reading this? You could be playing Concordia.

Don’t let the boring art and name fool you, this is a fantastic strategic competitive game for 2-5 players. Players are dynasties in ancient Rome competing for economic superiority.A tight worker placement game with some interesting deck-building mechanics and no dice, this game rewards replays. The base game comes with multiple maps that allow the game to scale with the number of players.I’ll never play Catan again (I hope)!

Concordia can be taught in less than 10 minutes and a game can be played in 90 minutes, but to play well is difficult, and to play it perfectly, near impossible. It’s my number one game and I’m always looking to bring it to the table.

Your actions each round are simple and everyone starts with the same options. As the game goes one though you need to balance everything, resources, economy, area control…. “Oh geez I just need another brick to build there but wait I want to move to a new region. Wait I don’t have enough money to do that”.Fun and balanced but will take a few plays to get a good understanding.A personal favourite
