Fun toy for the pool or large bathtub – not suitable for kids under 8 unless supervised
This is a cute seal that swims in the water. Fun for the bathtub, the pool, or on landIt comes with a small screwdriver to open the remote control. You will need 3 AA batteries.Beware, those screws are in their tight. So, there is not much leverage with their little screwdriver handle. I had to get my small Phillips head, which had a bit bigger handle, to open up the back.Once you get the screws as loose as they can go, just pop off the place where the screws are attached, and it pops off. Don’t get discouraged. It’s plastic, so be careful not to break it. :-)It comes with the proper USB cable to charge the actual porpoise. Once that’s charged, then it’s ready to use. It takes about an hour. The light will turn off when the porpoise is fully charged.It’s a USB C – and it comes with the right chord on the underside of the porpoise. Be careful of the plastic seals, kthey are ind of delicate. When you put it in water, you want to make sure it’s fully sealed.Read the directions and be careful about the drain plug on the porpoise – make sure it’s in place when it’s in the water, and be sure to shake out any water that may get trapped in there if you forget to use the plug.When you’re ready to use, press the larger button on the bottom of the porpoise and it will blink and you’re ready to use it.The directions are really good – The remote control is pretty easy to forward and backward, and it has auto demonstration modes and “land” and “water” modes, too.Note that the porpoise fin and back body are made out of thinner plastic, so they need more care.It’s almost more fun to use it on land. It does fishtails on the hardwood floors. Fun toy for any age. The dog liked it, too! I definitely recommend it.

I should caveat this 5-star review that I do have some minor issues with the toy. The first is that the battery compartment for the remote was really, really difficult to open, even with the included screwdriver. I ended up having to lever it open with a large flathead screwdriver. The second issue is the included charging cable is ridiculously short, maybe 3 inches long. However, the thing is so cute and so fun that neither of those issues has impacted my enjoyment whatsoever. I use my phone charging cable to charge the seal, and I think the remote takes 3 AA batteries. You hit one little button on the remote and this thing goes crazy on land or in water. Forwards, backwards, sideways, random and quick movements, and I honestly can’t say enough good things about it. Great little pool or bathtub toy, and even fun on dry land. We got the pink one, but I’m sure the blue one is cute too. Highly recommend!

Good Party, Christmas, or White Elephant Gift
This little seal could be a great addition to someone’s collection of unique toys. It could also work as a really good white elephant gift because either color would work well with any gender. It is very inexpensive, it functions very well, and even adults could have some fun with this little guy! I know my kids were pretty interested in it, but I think I was more interested in playing with it then they were.

Make sure to use the right charging cord. It will not charge with too high power. If you have pets, the tires will collect hair.Difficult to steer, but toddlers don’t mind. Handles hard floor and water well, slower on the carpet. Tail is easy to pull off and reattach.

I mean come on, how can you go wrong? A remote control seal that can work on land AND in the water?! This toy is super fun for the little ones. The controls are not professional by any means but we’re not doing any seal races anytime soon. It has a wheel for the land and swims pretty nicely in the water. This is an excellent toy for the kids. Its an amphibious remote control seal that doubles as either a remote control car or a remote control fish / boat. My younger child has been playing with it for hours since we got it a little while back. She cannot stop because of the flexibility of the toy (both figuratively and literally).The controls are intuitive and the seal itself is USB charged (a win for those that don’t love having to replace batteries every few days like me). It makes a fun noise when turned on and moves around like a fish when on a dry surface (with the back moving side-to-side). My son was so excited for this to arrive that he called me at work to ask if he could open the package. He set it up right away, and I appreciated that it came with a small screwdriver for the battery pack. It’s a really fun toy, but we quickly learned (the hard way) that it’s unbelievably loud when in “water mode” on a hard floor. Once we figured that out, the noise level became more bearable—though the three other kids in the house were still annoyed by its exploratory indoor adventure. Bedroom doors were quickly closed as a precaution.Once in the water, my son had a blast making it dive, flip, and swim around, even though he found it a bit harder to steer. He’s already looking forward to taking it to the pool or lake this summer. It seems decently built, so I’m hoping it holds up with frequent use. It does move quite a bit more slowly in water than it does on land, but it still a fun interactive water toy.I love that this toy is rechargeable via USB-C, and the charge lasts for a half decent amount of time; approximately an hour when this is played with on the floor, but maybe 20 minutes or so in the bath.The remote itself requires three AAA batteries and it’s worth noting that this is also water resistant, just in case it does get dropped in (which it always does).It’s a fun water toy that’s a lot more durable than it may seem, and I definitely like that it has playability outside of the water as well. My son has a lot of fun with it, and as a versatile remote control water toy, I would recommend.

This remote control seal is adorable. It does run better on land than it does in the bathtub, but my children have taken it in the bathtub twice now and it still works as well as when it arrived. -18 temperatures in Canada we aren’t taking it outside in the pool as it is intended, but personally I think it makes a better bathtub toy anyway. It definitely makes bath time more fun when there’s a baby seal in their with you. It would work well in a small plastic, kiddy pool, but I couldn’t imagine putting it into an actual adult-sized swimming pool. It floats well, which is a bonus, but there is only a little plug to keep water from entering the wiring area so long-term I’m not sure how long that will last.The reality with these toys is that my kids get bored of them fairly quickly so it’s not certain whether the toy will outlast their attention span or vice versa. However, it does perform as expected and I have no hesitance recommending it to others. Also, its pretty cool that it can run in and out of water. It extends the places that you can play with it and how it can be played with.

Fun floating bathtub toy. My 3yo really enjoys playing with it in the tub. It’s not a giant tub but a little larger than apartment-sized from my experience and the other toys need to be removed for this to swim around. For the controls, you can manually control it to some degree or put it in automatic, where it drives around and tries changing directions on its own. Reverse doesn’t work very well but it paddles left, forward and right well enough to capture the excitement of a child. Also has little wheels for flat surfaces. Easy USB-C charging with watertight seals, be careful its sealed before wet use, lots of power for bath play. Great price, too. Recommended. Careful with the remote control, the battery panel flexes against the seal around the enclosure and mine may not have been water-resistant.
