Great Cat Toothpaste
I have been using this Petrodex Dental Care Kit for Cats for my cats for 2-3 years now. It is excellent. And she “allows” it. I used a couple of other brands before. She really liked one brand, but they stopped making it. Then I tried an Arm & Hammer brand one and she HATED it! So, I am thrilled she tolerates this one. This comes with detailed instructions, plus a slim toothbrush and a finger brush as well. My cat first started with just the toothpaste itself on my finger, when she was a kitten. She never liked a brush in her mouth. I could only do it a couple times a week at first, but eventually was able to increase that to once a day. Still with my finger only. But now, in addition to that, I have slowly incorporated the brush and finger bush also, though at separate times, and still not with the toothpaste on it. We’ll get there. Right now, she just thinks the brush is a toy and she likes to chew on it… perfect! And the finger brush is a massage tool for her gums. This is good stuff and I hope they never stop making it. I cannot find it in the stores, so have to buy it online… either here or eBay! I prefer to get it here at Amazon though.

Chose this dental kit for the price and size. Its a great value. I have 2 puppies and the kit includes a finger brush. Works great especially considering their gums. Love that it’s made with natural products. I purchased the peanut flavor but it surprisingly doesn’t smell. I feel like this cleans the teeth and gums well. It seems strong enough to do it’s job but not too strong.

My cat literally eats anything. So when I first purchased the arm and hammer toothbrush kit in the tuna flavor i assumed my cat would have no problem with it. Yeah, wrong. She’d run away. BUT THIS ONE WORKS. She doesnt run away and seems to like it!I will say, of course introducing your cat to the toothpaste itself will require patience before you move onto brushing, so as i am currently at this stage i have not tried the included finger brush and brush. My cat immediately gets excited when she sees this toothpaste tube because i always reward her after she takes a lick.UPDATE:I ended up buying a kids toothbrush from walmart to brush my cats teeth as the finger brush and the brush that comes with this kit were too rough on her gums. The finger brush would have been perfect but its too large to fit into my cats mouth. However, shes still insanely obsessed with the taste of this toothpaste and now gets very excited to get her teeth brushed!

My cat loves the taste of this malt toothpaste. We use this toothpaste with silicone cat toothbrushes. The silicone toothbrushes are very soft and last and also they are perfect for cats to chew on. Here is a great tip for beginners! You can start training your cat to enjoy teeth brushing by using “gogurt style” cat treats in a tube on the toothbrush. For most cats, this is the ultimate cat treat. It makes for a perfect training, enticement. We started off this way! See the video for some cat toothbrushing training tips. We eventually transitioned to this toothpaste once the daily habit was established. 🙂

My cat was obviously suspicious of getting his teeth brushed the first few times, but now that he’s used to that he absolutely goes crazy for this toothpaste. I never thought I’d have a cat beg for toothpaste before but he genuinely climbs up my legs while he waits for me to cover the brush with it. It seems to help with his breath too! We’ve been using it for many months now and I have no complaints. Happy to know he will have clean healthy teeth!

My cat loves this toothpaste! He hates me cleaning his teeth and pulls away after I manage to gently clean a fang or two – but he quickly comes back for more due to the product’s tasty (and addictive?) properties.My technique is to lift his top lip and brush his front teeth (this takes a few goes to get everywhere methodically) and then stick the brush in a bit further and let him chew/clean his rear teeth.The long toothbrush is a great bonus and a necessary alternative to those little rubber finger puppets you usually get. It’s not until you pull back your cats lips that you realise how bloody scary their teeth are!Anyways … regarding effectiveness, this is the best cat toothpaste I’ve used so far! My cat had a truly foul, pungent fishy breath, despite being on a dry food diet, that you would gag on every time he licked his fur while sat in your lap. After one week of daily use (yes … I know it says 2-3 times per week), his breath is markedly improved – still not kissable, but then I’m not that way inclined anyway.It works! Yay!
