Cinnamomum verum (“Ceylon” cinnamon) is a pale, fawn colored powder a distinct floral scent.The contents of these capsules is a dark rusty brown and smells like “red hots” candy. I think it is Cinnamomum cassia (“Vietnamese” “Saigon” or “Chinese” cinnamon despite being labeled (or mislabeled) as “Ceylon” cinnamon.Cinnamomum cassia contains coumarin (a compound that causes anticoagulation); Ceylon cinnamon does not.And then there is the Proposition 65 consideration, discussed in other reviews.
