Easy to charge. My son had to use this 3 times since we purchased it. The car fires right up with ut and it doesn’t take alot of the charge away. After 3 uses it is still at 80%

This is my second small jump starter. I like this one due to its simplicity. You just hook it to the battery and go start the car. I was able to test it on a “tired” car battery, and I could tell that the engine turned over faster with this hooked up. As with any of these small boosters, it isn’t made for a totally dead battery. The instructions indicate that the battery should be at least 50% to use this booster. This one is perfect for the run into the grocery store with the headlights on, or the vanity light left on all day while at work. It also has a flashlight with optional flasher mode for emergencies, as well as an LCD that displays the current charge of the unit. It includes a handy hard-sided zippered box for storage. Good first impressions, but I’ll stay with 4 stars until a real use-case.

Basic Portable Jump Starter. Should get the job done.
The DINKALEN Portable Car Battery Charger Jump Starter provides peace of mind for drivers concerned about being stuck due to a dead or under-charged battery. I consider this a basic Jump Starter that doesn’t include some of the bells and whistles of other similar devices. You get the battery unit, the battery cables/clamps, a standard USB-A to USB-C charging cable, an instruction manual and a basic case. A USB charger, 12V output and other niceties are not included. The label on the bottom of the unit says it contains a 12,800mAh, 47.3WH battery. That’s slightly less capacity than a jump starter I’ve previously owned.Mine arrived indicating an 80% battery level so out of the box, it should be able to jump start a car. Connecting it to a 2.1A charger topped off the battery quickly. I haven’t had the need to jump start anything yet but it appears to be working. There is a small button on the cables/clamps plug that needs to be pressed if the dead battery is below a voltage threshold and the safeties need to be overridden.A nice feature is the ability to use this as a power bank. I used this with a USB powered device that I needed to move around for a few hours and the LCD reading only dropped to 96%. I can see myself using it to charge a variety of devices while outside or on the go. Just have to make sure enough charge is left to start a car if needed.The instruction manual is small and the English section is 10 pages. The case is pretty basic with a padded section to hold the battery and an open mesh section for the cables. Because the mesh section doesn’t close, I haven’t found the exact orientation to keep the cables from falling out when the case is opened.

Good power in a very small package
This is a nice unit that is very simple to use. It’s self-explanatory, and if you have any problems, there are troubleshooting instructions in the owner’s manual and printed on the side of the power leads, which only hook up one way. You almost can’t mess this up.I managed to mess up anyhow, but that wasn’t the fault of the unit. It had to do with how I tested it- I simulated a totally dead battery by unhooking the power leads from the vehicle battery. This gave the unit 0 volts worth of help in cranking, a true acid test of its power. Of course, in normal use, very few batteries have no voltage. A dead battery has about nine or ten, and this unit is designed to be hooked to a dead battery with some residual voltage. I found out because the unit kept giving me a warning tone, and it wouldn’t supply power to crank the engine.Then, I did what I should have done in the first place. I looked in the owner’s manual, and sure enough, the unit has a provision for a 0 voltage situation. There is a power override button on the side of the power leads. Press it for two seconds, and the unit will work in this unusual situation.What can I say? Once I followed the instructions, the jump starter cranked and started a four-cylinder diesel for two cycles without help from the vehicle’s battery. Very impressive for such a little guy!This is a good backup. Recommend.
