Not very mini, pretty standard ingredients
This THNVAID Mini First Aid Kit is larger than I expected from the picture. I was picturing something more coin purse size – this is about twice as big as that, and quite a bit thicker.I attempted to replicate the picture in the listing, to see if it was as off as it seemed. I was able to do it, so I guess it wasn’t too misleading, but my fingers were definitely not in natural positions for holding it. I’m 5’11” and do not have particularly small hands.But that’s my fault for not checking the measurements. It’s also probably not reasonable of me to expect a a bag containing 147 items to be coin purse sized, even if some of them are small.Don’t be like me – check measurements if it matters to you. This measures 8″ x 5.6″ x 2.2″ according to the listing – in other words, approximately as wide as a piece of printer paper. This seems accurate.It would be good for leaving in a car, and would take up a lot of space in a backpack or purse – probably worth it for hiking or other high risk situations, but this is not an EDC sort of kit.My kit content matches with what is pictured in the listing. Most of the inclusions seemed appropriate for standard minor first aid situations.The first aid manual is one standard sheet of paper, folded in half. It is extremely basic (as is appropriate for someone without formal first aid training and limited supplies), and I didn’t notice any glaring inaccuracies. But don’t expect it to be much help if you’re in an area without easy access to emergency services.I liked that this kit includes moleskin for blisters, as that’s something I haven’t seen in many similar first aid kits.The “tourniquet” is the sort used to help the vein stand out for starting IVs or drawing blood. It’s inclusion is my first aid kit pet peeve – this has no practical first aid usage that I am aware of. This is NOT the type of tourniquet used to stop a hemorrhage – it is far too stretchy to apply adequate pressure for that, and I feel that it is included to give the impression that the kit contains this sort of item. Hopefully no one wastes valuable time in an emergency trying to make it work.I tried out the whistle, and it didn’t make much noise. Perhaps it would if I were blowing with full effort, but it didn’t seem like it.The bag itself is bright red for visibility. The fabric is not luxurious, but seems sturdy enough, and it’s a first aid kit and doesn’t need to feel luxurious.All in all, this seems a decent basic first aid kit for the price. Just be sure you’re familiar with the content and how to use it appropriately.

Small but useful
This is a good kit to keep in one’s workshop, day bag, backpack, or suitcase. It has the basic first aid supplies, though personally I took out the rubber strap “tourniquet” and the whistle so that I could squeeze in more gauze. It did come with a large assortment of band-aides, which is nice.The pouch is decently made – better than a freebie handed out at conferences. When filled it’s the size of a thick paperback book, so it’s not really “mini”.Overall, it is pretty basic, but it has what’s needed for the usual, daily injuries that occur when camping, woodworking, or taking the kids to the playground. It’s definitely worth getting if you don’t want to make your own kit.

a good personal sized first aid
Overall I think this is a handy first aid to keep in the car, or on the work site. Although the bag itself is pretty basic in quality, it contains a little bit of every essential bit of first aid. I would say the quality of each item isn’t the best, but will do exactly what you’ll need them to do in a pinch. Moreover, I think this first aid kit is a pretty good value given the amount of essentials included and the low price point(7.99 at the time of review.).
