Good product
Works good in my 1998 Mustang GT with mach 460 audio . No complaints install went smoothly and wiring the harness’s together was super easy .to anyone else with a stang if you get it all together and only some of your speakers work, disconnect the (square) black connector from the car harness and flip it 180 so that the pins in the connector are in the right place

Metra Wiring Harness
I bought this harness to simplify the installation of a new Kenwood radio/CD player in my Ford vehicle.Aside from a small discrepancy in the wire color code chart in the instructions and a technical support staff who didn’t quite follow my question, I recommend the Metra product because it fit the factory wiring harness and is pretty well made.I was able to puzzle out the wire I needed to connect the amp trigger lead. For Fords with a “Premium Sound” external amplifier like mine, it’s usually the blue/white wire on the Metra harness. Just follow the wiring instructions of your radio/CD player’s harness and connect like color to like color on the Metra harness.I soldered the connections and used heat shrink tubing to seal everything up. (NOTE: Add heat shrink tubing BEFORE soldering joints!) End result was an adapter cable harness about 8″ long with Ford compatible sockets(2) at one end and the Kenwood jack at the other. I dressed the harness with wire wrap because…well, just because. Plugged everything in, verified that it all worked, and then dropped the Kenwood into the dash.If your radio/CD player has RCA output jacks, you will probably need a different version/model Metra adapter and you’ll have a lot less soldering to do.

Can’t beat it for $5
Works perfect. No issues plugging either lead into the car harness multiple times.4 stars Because the plastic nipple that latches it in place broke off. Still fit snugly in place so I’m not concerned about it coming disconnected. The square lead for the speaker wires worked perfect. The flat lead for power and what not does work just fine, but some of its wires plugged into empty leads on the harness. It works. So that’s what matters.

Great product. Great price.
Bought to put a Pioneer receiver into a 1999 Mustang. All wires are well marked as to what hooks to what (wire colors of this part actually matched those of the radio perfectly, which was a plus). 20 minutes of joining wires and shrink tubing and it was ready to install. Harness matched Ford harness perfectly. Install took 10 minutes start to finish. NOTE: Mustangs may have factory amps (mine did), so if you don’t have any sound from your speakers, make sure to hook up the BLUE amp power wire.

Very easy
This worked perfectly for my 98′ mustang that has the mach 460 sound system in it

Ok for trying to use
The factory jbl ford connector is junk. So this doesn’t have a chance.

Installed in 1995 Mustang GT, without Mach upgrade
It worked perfectly in the Mustang even though Amazon’s website says it doesn’t fit a 1995 Mustang. The Mustang has a power amp below the CD player which is separate from the Radio and Cassette players. After installation the right side speakers didn’t work. I was told by metra that some new head units don’t drive the old amps correctly. I tested the amp by putting the old units back in and they did drive the existing amp correctly. I ordered a Metra 70-5513 Radio Wiring Harness for Ford Amplifier Eliminator Plug and removed the wiring plug from the back of the old amp , plugged it in the larger side of the 70-5513, cut off the smaller plug from the 70-5513 (which doesn’t fit anything else in the car) and hard wired those 8 speaker wires to the new head unit which bypassed the old amp and every speaker works. If you use the 70-5513 you don’t need the square black plug form the 70-5511 that hooks the new head unit to the wires that go to the amp since you are going to bypass it. You just use the rectangular grey plug to connect to the car’s existing harness.

This was the correct harness to connect 98 mustang factory harness to aftermarket double din
