Good functional unit that helped when we needed it!
I ordered one of these safety rails for my wife who just had knee replacement surgery, and it was exactly what we needed. It allows her to get up and down without much effort at all, surprising sturdy if you don’t press outward on the arms too much. It’s of course a bit wobbly, but with a moment or two of figuring out how to push yourself up it is quite sturdy indeed and is a life-saver. Assembly was super simple, and the bracket attaches very securely to the rear of the toilet seat in the same holes for the lid – – piece of cake. I like the ability to fully adjust the height of the arms and also of their distance apart. This unit is not designed for Olympic routines, and you can buy much more expensive units that are a bit sturdier, but if you will just think and figure out the best way to push yourself up this unit will do just fine. A quality and inexpensive solution to anyone who has trouble getting around or standing up. Highly recommended!!

Strong Yet Lightweight; Adjustable; Easy to Assemble and Remove — Still Super Great 16 Months Later!
We purchased this in addition to the AquaSense Portable Raised Toilet Seat, which we also like.This set of safety rails was easy to install and adjust. It’s also super fast to remove just the rails themselves without having to remove the “frame bracket” that attaches to the toilet itself at the back of the seat. (See the cream-colored tube in the bottom of the u-shaped portion of the rail assembly. That way, it’s easy to remove the safety rails when you don’t need them, but just as easy to add them back if an elderly or disabled person needs the additional security and support. The rails are lightweight yet strong. You can adjust the width on each of the rails individually, which can help you to accommodate users of a wide variety of sizes and shapes while still fitting nicely in the room. The legs are easy to lift up slightly when you’re sweeping and mopping the floor. A great find that allows our elderly patient to feel safe and confident in the bathroom.UPDATE 16 MONTHS LATER: These safety rails remain just great after 16 months of daily use. The design makes it safer and easier for our senior to use the bathroom independently. It works beautifully with the elegantly simple Aqua Sense toilet seat riser I reviewed here as well. Both have been stellar performers, easy to install and equally simple to remove if needed. Well worth the money!THREE-YEAR UPDATE: This set of toilet safety rails looks and performs just as well as it did the very first day we received it. It’s an ingenious, streamlined design that was easy to install, would be just as easy to take off, and it is even easy to clean, both on the toilet and the floor. The combo of the toilet riser we spoke about originally remains a powerful combination for safety, security and ease of cleaning. Just great!

Needed after hip surgery
Easy to install and I think it would work even in tight spaces as it’s just a bit wider than a standard toilet and adjustable. Was very helpful while I needed it and easy to store until/if I need it again. It’s very stable and easy to hold onto if you’re getting up slowly due to pain or age.

The rail is very sturdy when pushing up to get up, which is the purpose of this rail. I would not recommend it as a rail to prevent falling off on the sides as it is not sturdy enough against forces pushing sideways. Very easy to install. However, depending on the design of your toilet (for instance if its a one piece with a curved corner between the seat and the water container) I’d recommend to mount the entire rail first before bolting it to the toilet. Otherwise the plate that goes under the toilet seat bolts may be on an angle that makes it difficult, if not impossible, to slide the posts in it.
