Great workout…half an hour is enough!
Great set of workouts, with the main 3 focused on endurance, strength, and cardio for a half an hour of each… And there’s some flow yoga, and some abs for the in between days (15 mins apiece.)

Not a power lifting video!
I just didn’t care for it. I thought it was going to be a power lifting video. Boy was I wrong!

Great DVD
Great DVD that helps me pack off the pounds while I snack off on the trim I’m picking up because of its use. I ain’t no plumber, but I’m pretty good at laying pipe. If you wanna lose weight, get trim, and get trimmed up then buy this DVD

Good workout for beginners/mid-level
The workout is good for beginners or people with some workout experience. For me while it is a good workout that I’ve incorporated into my routine, coming off the heals of the Insanity and PX-90 workouts its not as challenging as I had hoped. Hence that’s why the 4-star rating; not “perfect” for my need but not a bad workout routine for others.

A good quality program all the way around. Pefect to get you started.
I have a stack of workout DVDs. I recently did the majority of Body Beast. After I completed it, I decided to rotate through various other workouts, while keeping Body Beast in heavy rotation. Kind of a way of maintenance for Body Beast, while getting a wide variety from other programs at the same time. I think the quality of Beachbody products is hard to beat and I’ve been using their products off an on since the original Power 90 series (unfortunately, I had some off years where, like many Americans, I gained it all back and then some).Having a lot of experience with a lot of programs, I have to say Men’s Health Anarchy Workout is top notch. I don’t know why they don’t push it more. I only stumbled across it by accident. And if I hadn’t of managed to get a “preview” of it, I’m not sure I would have ever even tried it.I’m going to rank my favorites:Body Beast – It’s hard to imagine a better workout that just doesn’t involve a gym, and probably a trainer. This actually ventures into weight training, vs. just exercise.Master’s Hammer & Chisel – Excellent to cycle to after Body Beast. A lot of good stuff, even if you don’t do it by its calendar.P90X(n) – These are good, but some workouts are really long, and I got much better results from Body Beast. More of just exercise, as opposed to weight training.Anarchy Workouts – Phase 2. I’ve only done the phase 2 videos, but for the money, these are top notch workouts, at just the right length.Bob Harper – Bh: Pure Burn Super Strength. This video is cheap, an hour long, and intense.Rushfit – I haven’t done every Rushfit yet, but the ones I have done were good. I’m not sure I would feel satisfied if I had bought the full set at retail, though.*RIPT90 – OK for the money, but not approaching Beachbody quality. However, it’s crazy high reps that have a little Crossfit WOD feel to them.Weider Ruthless – I got these on sale really cheap. Some of my least favorite workouts, but the Yoga workout was top notch and a great 20 minute routine.Best Kettelbell workout: Jillian Michaels: Shred-It With Weight. I have done numerous kettlebell workouts and have the whole Kettle Workx series (not good). I’ve done some videos from youtube that look way more manly. Of all of them, Jillian’s is the best. Just kick up the weight of your Kettlebell to around 20 – 25 pounds (or more), and it’s hard to beat this Kettlebell workout. That said, if you aren’t in great shape and wanted something to do before a Beachbody product, I think the Anarchy videos would be perfect. I think I’m in pretty good shape now and the Phase 2 videos were a good balance of intensity vs. still being doable. There were only a few moves in all three phase two videos — strength, endurance, cardio — that I couldn’t fully do (one arm burpees…nope). The production is smooth. The instructor is good. The flow is good. It seems to be an all around good program. Again, especially if you aren’t in good shape and would like a program to get you started before moving on to something more difficult. If you have done a bunch of Beachbody programs, though, if they didn’t get you ripped, I wouldn’t expect Anarchy to be the one that does it, either.-=-=-=*If you shop around, you can get a lot of these individually really cheap, in both new and used condition.

Great workout
I enjoy this workout a lot. Having done P90X3, I was looking to mix things up. This is equivalent to the tougher P90X3 workouts. The ones incorporating weights are only as hard as the amount of weight you use. The cardio and endurance workouts are tough – I get a good sweat every time. Lots of hopping, running, sprawls, – great high intensity workout in 30 minutes. I find myself coming back to this one sometimes more than P90X3 since these are all hard and some of the P90X3 ones are either easy or require a pull-up bar. I know I’ll get a good workout with these DVD’s.

Almost Perfect! Wish the Directions Were More Synchronized and Featured Fewer Asides.
This is a review update from a previous review dated Sep 2023.Overall: I have twice used this workout to get into the best shape of my life. The Anarchy Workout is a great example of correctly paced high-intensity interval training (HIIT) that begins at an attainable level and progresses from there. Andy Speer, the trainer who developed the program and leads the workouts, has a gift for developing programs.Pros: When done as presented, anyone can attain a higher level of fitness. The HIIT regimen presented is designed to burn calories and support lean muscle growth while helping to reduce fat. The regimen is economical, easy to follow even for people who dislike aerobic dance or complicated movements, and customizable. If you cannot keep up with the pace set by Andy and crew, you can make modifications, including reducing the range of motion or the number of repetitions. One of the performers, Christina, demonstrates key modifications. The important point is to stay active during work bouts and to concentrate on stabilizing breathing during rests. I liked the variation and inclusion of both body-weight cardio routines and strength routines. Done as presented, the routines can be a significant challenge even for a more advanced trainee. I got into the best shape of my life following this regimen. I backslid over the pandemic but began again a couple of months ago from the very beginning and have progressed to Phase 2. If you push yourself in terms of repetitions, Phase 2 is a very formidable workout that will have even athletic people sweating and breathing hard.Cons: More attention should have been paid to synchronization. Sometimes, Andy has not completed his explanation of a move before the countdown timer or a work bout begins. This is a drawback at any time but especially for beginners who are memorizing the routine. Andy also makes some asides to his training partners that might be a gentle ribbing to them but are a great distraction to someone who is having a tough time with the cardio intensity. As an example, on the beginner disc (disc 1), he makes a joke that Graham, one of the models, had a panini sandwich for lunch and then goes on to tease him that he is “torturing” him with a tough routine to make up for the fact that he has indulged in cheese and other rich foods. That might be a funny joke in studio, especially when Andy himself is trying to distract himself from the cardio strain he is under, but it is a real vexation to me as I am trying to improve my maximum O2 saturation after time away from training. It is not pleasant. I would prefer that Andy concentrate on motivating the person at home with encouragements (“Only 20 seconds left.. That’s it… Strong arms…, etc.”). Even if you are able to ignore the panini joke, it is tiring and rather annoying to hear the same joke 20 times over the course of a month. One reason I like this more than other workout routines, though, is that Andy engages in more encouragement than anything else. I have found other home workout trainers condescending, so Andy is a welcome change from such people.Overall, the best workout routine I’ve tried at home. I look forward to posting another update once I have made more progress.
