Beautiful, soft, organic cotton
It’s so nice to see the downhill slide toward poly-microplastic-leaching everything being countered, even with tiny baby steps. A blanket like this makes it possible for me to give the gift of healthy natural fiber to the parents of a new babe, hoping they’ll feel the difference and opt for more natural surroundings for that precious little one. It’s nicely knitted and thick enough not to be simply decorative, though it’s very pretty. The price makes it hard to recommend, so I’ll be using it as a gift option and hoping new parents can find other natural products that are more affordable when they’re shopping for their own household. I don’t know enough about the industry to know if the price is absolutely justified or if it’s marked up for those willing to pay luxury brand prices for healthy materials; if I find out more I’ll try to remember to update. I hope healthy becomes more affordable. Meantime, I’m grateful there are companies offering an alternative to the mainstream shinola.

Perfect for mild weather
This blanket is very soft and I’m so glad it’s made of organic cotton. It feels and looks very well made so I can tell it will hold up well. It is on the thin side, so I think it would be perfect for spring/summer/fall but definitely not something to rely on in the winter. The size is perfect for babies and I love the neutral color too!

Too expensive for what it is
The blanket is a nice print, very in style right now with the checkered. I love everything white for babies. And I love baby blankets. I was expecting a luxury blanket for $88. The packaging that it was sent in was a cheap plastic. The bow with the brand name was a cute touch. The logo on the blanket is also nice. But the quality of the blanket… I was very let down. It’s see through, rough, and thin. For $88 I was expecting quality to comparably priced brands. I wouldn’t spend more than $40 on this item, and that’s pushing it.

My wife’s review:The cream colored blanket from the Mon Chou store arrives folded with a ribbon and inside a sealed bag. I understand the plastic bag but wish they’d use a recycled card board sleeve or even tissue and tape instead.The knitted blanket is made from organic Pima Cotton jersey. It’s very soft and perfect for a new little baby or to use as an extra throw in a stroller or car seat, measuring 30″x37″.Mon Chou feels like a reborn bougee baby brand; Mon Chou bebe was a French brand from the ’80s but I think this company has only been around for a few years and is in California. Same concept of luxury organic materials in minimalist styles. Whatever the origin story, the pieces I’ve ordered have all been of good quality and the clothing true to size. Everything launders well.
