I have been looking for an instant thermometer that gets consistent measurements whether I scan my forehead 1x or 10x in a row. I also typically switch back and forth between my husband and myself so the device can’t be depend on any type of instant memory feature. This one from iHealth does exactly what I wanted an instant read thermometer to do. It varies less than .2 degrees when scanning in the methods described above.One of the best features of this device, in my opinion, is the price. The price at the time of this review is $16.99 and there is currently a small coupon off of that price. I think this is a fantastic value and I rate this thermometer as a 5 Star product up to the $25 mark. I have not had it long enough to determine longevity and battery consumption. The device does include 2 AAA batteries that are hidden in a fold in the box. I chose to use name brand batteries as a better alternative – thinking they might give me more longevity than the included generic batteries. The battery compartment has no lines or area that appears to help with access. Instead, there is a recessed area at the end that is notched. Lifting up at this spot – opens the battery compartment.This thermometer is not fancy and does not include a case or storage bag. It does have preset peramiters for green – safe temperature – yellow – fever and – red – high fever. **This thermometer does not have any settings specific to the age of the person being tested. ** The American Academy of Pediatrics sets normal, concerning, and dangerous temperature guidelines that are different for infants and for children. There is a third set of lower temperatures for adults. This thermometer uses the guide for adults as the basis for the red / yellow / green light method.This device is made ANDON HEALTH CO., LTD. and marketed by the brand iHealth. This in no way makes this a smart device with wifi / bluetooth / or any other type of connection to anything other than the backlit LED screen on the thermometer.

This iHealth Touchless Digital Thermometer is very nice! It is so nice to have a thermometer that you don’t have to stick under your tongue and disinfect after every use. The description is accurate and it only takes a second to get a temperature reading and it seems very accurate. It couldn’t any easier to use…just hold the device about an inch away from the forehead and press the button once. When it beeps, you’ve got your temperature reading.The LCD screen is large and easy to read. I do wish that the device was rechargeable, and didn’t depend on throw-away batteries, but that is a minor issue. The price point for this product is very reasonable and it seems like a quality piece if equipment.I can highly recommend this thermometer and happily give it a Full 5 Stars!
