Purchased for emergency wild bird care
I bought this so I can be prepared to take care of possible wild baby birds. It took some time to come in and I have a tendency to have baby birds to care for. I put in it the freezer. I usually keep it on hand for those very reasons. It’s make it or break it having this food on hand.

When mixing this, the texture is very smooth and not lumpy or grainy. I use it for mixing liquid medicine with it to give to my Bird. It’s a win-win situation. He loves the taste, and I love the fact that I can give him his meds and he enjoys it!

Thickens and clogs the syringe after a minute or so
I’m changing my review because I have come across issues with this product. When I mix to the directions it is like mashed potatoes. I cannot suck it up or squeeze it out of a syringe. I add more water and it sucks up ok but even if it sits for a couple of minutes it thickens and is difficult to squeeze out of the syringe. It’s quite frustrating for me and for the baby green cheek.I bought this formula because my oldest green cheek baby wasn’t taking well to Kaytee Exact and she was not growing at the same rate as her younger siblings so I gave her this Higgins formula which smells great and she likes the taste and consistency of. If it weren’t for the fact that it thickens then I’d give this product 5 stars but it clogs the syringe and I feel if I need to water it down to be able to feed it to her then she’s probably not getting as much nutrition as she would be otherwise. I’m glad she’s beginning to try out solid foods now.
