best game for 2.5 yo
I figured it was time for my 2.5 yo to start playing games and bought a bunch for xmas (Ants in the Pants; Acorn Soup; Hi Ho! The Cherry-O; a matching game) but none are nearly as perfect as this. It was super easy for him to grasp, game play is not too fast and not too slow, it’s cooperative, easy to set up, and no small pieces (a plus for my 10 mo who’s always intervening). The 2.5 yo loves to play it with anyone that visits (and loves to explain it too). Kids with a longer attention span will want to play a handful of times in a row, and kids with a shorter attention spay will be fine playing once. This pieces are age appropriate, well made (wooden fruit!), and not chintzy. Also the ending of this game is clear-cut and satisfying. Really perfect for a toddler’s first game.

GREAT first game
This is a very good and interesting first game for children. The fruit pieces are solid wood in bright colors, the directions are simple and the game is fun and pretty short. No reading or counting needed, but does teach color-matching and taking turns. My 5-year-old grandson played with his 2-year-old brother and they both wanted to play over and over.

Fruitastic game!
We got this game because our 2 year old always wanted to join when we played games but they were too advanced. This has been a great game that our entire family enjoys! It’s very simple with large pieces and quick game play, all of which are a must with the short attention spans of little ones! Our kiddos enjoy throwing the die and trying to keep the birdie from eating the fruit. When the bird comes up on the die, they giggle and say don’t get our fruit! It’s been great because it also teaches lessons that games do, such as waiting our turn, playing the color rolled even if it’s not the one that was wanted (and thus not cheating), and that we don’t always win but we can play and try once more. This game is a winner all around and is played weekly.Update: After having this game for over 2 years it’s been one of the most played with games that we have in our big collection of games! Kiddos ranging from 22 months up to 5 years enjoy it and so do the adults who play it with them. The game looks as great as it did when we got it. The fruit pieces have hit the ground more times than I can say but they haven’t chipped at all. This game has been so durable and such fun to have in our rotation. One thing to keep in mind is that the pieces are made of wood so they pack a punch if hurled by a little one but we haven’t really had a problem with that since the game play is so quick and keeps the kids engaged. I still love how big the pieces are because they can’t be choked on, are easy for kids to grasp, and I’m not picking up tiny pieces everywhere! One of the other reasons this game is uniquely awesome is because it takes very little effort (not a lot of rules) but it’s still fun so you can get straight into playing & having fun. Also everything fits in the box well and the box has held up just as well as the rest of the pieces. It’s just a really great game!!

Quality education and fun game for toddlers
My grandkids (twin 3 year olds) LOVE this game! The pieces are large wooden fruit shapes with vibrant paint that have held up under extreme use. It teaches them their colors, sharing, taking turns, teamwork (winning against the black bird) and is the first game they pull out to play with me over all of the others. Excellent quality and game!

Perfect for your kid’s first game
I bought this when my twins were 20 months old and they picked it up right away. It’s very simple – all the players work collectively. You roll a die and collect the corresponding fruit from the tree. If the die shows the raven, the raven moves one step closer to gobbling up your fruit. Collect all the fruit before the raven reaches your orchard.Since you win and lose as a team, there’s no pressure and no one feels like an individual loser. The fruit, the die, and the raven are made of solid wood – they’re big, and easy enough to grasp for little hands. The other pieces are cardboard.I’d happily buy this as a gift for any toddler. It’s a great introduction to gaming. My kids still play the game as they’re approaching 5 years old. They’ve taught it to their friends. It’s honestly one of the best early-childhood toys I ever bought for them. The replay value is high.

Excellent quality, love HABA games!
My son loves this game, we have 4 HABA games already. I 100% recommend this brand. It’s excellent quality and design, it will last forever. They are great for all ages starting with under 2 even up to 6. They are made in Germany so you know the quality is top and products are safe for your kids, not cheap Chinese crap!

Must-Have First Game for Toddlers!
We love HABA products and this is a must-have game for little ones! It is very easy to play and everyone is playing together against the raven. You learn about a lot of gaming concepts like using a die, taking turns, moving a raven along the path, collecting objects, etc. The wood fruits are very high-quality and will last for years. We keep this game out on our bookshelf and play at least once a week before going to bed. Our toddler loves it! I am giving the game 4 stars because the apple is repeated twice in different colors. It would have been nice to have four completely different fruits. There are different versions of this game and they have included four different fruits. Instead of the red apple, one version has red cherries.

Great first game
My kids are 2 and 3 1/2, and they both can play this game (with guidance). It’s one of our first board games, and the instructions are simple and easy for kids at this age range. Great for practicing taking turns, colors, objects and following simple directions. A game usually lasts about 15-20 minutes, and both my kids can usually stay focused for 2 games in a row. Also, the fruits, die and crow are of good size and feel durable. Highly recommend as a beginner board game.

Soit on gagne tous ensemble, soit on perds tous ensemble!
