Works great, good buy
We have a rottie with thick hair and this brush is amazing for his coat and he loves being brushed. I got so much hair and undercoat off! I also have a bunny, didn’t work quite as well on her fine hair but I wasn’t expecting it to.

This is an excellent comb for removing Mats and tangles in pets, both cats and dogs of varying fur/hair thickness.I bought this primarily for a cat with medium, long fur. The cat is not a “long hair”, but definitely not a short hair, either. She tends to get matting along her hind quarters, and just behind her tail. She hates to be combed and usually gets crazy if I try to clip the matts. If she would let me comb her or brush her regularly, we would not have this problems… But she makes the rules.Anyway, when I got the comb, I was glad it had two sides of varying comb numbers (as stated in the listing). This is nice because you use the lesser number of combs first, then move to the higher number. This way there is no pulling. My cat was frightened when she saw this thing, and then turned to happiness when I began to effortlessly comb her mats out. Now, her matts are not severe, however, I believe this would work on medium matting. Anything more and you will want a groomer to take care of it.The blades are very sharp, and overgrooming with this tool will thin the hair too much.I was able to use this on multiple pets with differing fur thickness, even a fine, silky cat, and not only did it remove matts, tangles and undercoat binding, but they all loved this thing.Anytime I bring this out, all the little monsters come running to me, for their turn. It’s especially nice to see the one who was very afraid of combs and brushes, she is quite happy when she sees this and is ready to be groomed.I would imagine that once the blades get dull, as there is no way to replace them or sharpen them, you should get a new one. Dull blades in a comb like this would be very painful for an animal. At that point I would definitely buy a new one.Lastly, I don’t think you will want to use this for every grooming. Only when there is a matting concern. As I said, it will blunt the hair, otherwise.Over all, great, and will definitely buy again when needed. Sorry for any typos I’m writing this on my mobile, which has a mind of its own.

Not for Golden Doodles!
The GoPets Dematting Comb is a great tool for keeping your pet’s fur looking healthy and groomed. The two-sided professional grooming rake is easy to use, and it does a great job of removing tangles and mats.I’ve used this comb on my cat, and it works wonders on her long hair. The comb is gentle enough to avoid causing her any discomfort, but it’s still effective at removing tangles and mats. The two different sides of the comb are also great for different types of fur.However, I did have some issues when I tried to use this comb on my golden doodle. Unfortunately, it didn’t work as well on his thick, curly fur. The comb seemed to get stuck in his fur and didn’t do a great job of removing the mats.Overall, I would still recommend the GoPets Dematting Comb for cats and dogs with shorter or thinner fur. It’s a high-quality tool that is well-made and easy to use. However, if you have a dog with thick or curly fur, you may want to consider a different tool that is specifically designed for that type of fur. I’m giving it 4 stars because while it didn’t work well for my golden doodle, it’s still a great tool for other pets.

This GoPets Dematting Comb is the cat’s meow LOL! All of my cats have had very short fur so when I adopted my most recent little girl, I just assumed her fur would behave like all my other cats over the years. Well, not so. After a while I noticed her fur getting mats across the shoulder area and the hip area. Close examination indicated that she has an undercoat. Her fur isn’t that long but is really, really thick. I’ve been raw feeding my cats for 15+ years and none of them shed or spit up hair balls after I changed their diet. This new kittie didn’t shed per se but she did occasionally lose some of that undercoat.Well, never having had this problem before, I hopped on line and found this item on Amazon. I ordered it right away. I thought if it worked, then great; otherwise I’d have to take her in to be shaved. Cutting the mats out with scissors was not an option since her fur is short and she would not be still. There was too great a danger of me cutting her.I’ve had the dematting comb less than a week and I praise it. It is a life saver. While she won’t hold still for long brushing sessions, she will let me brush her for a few minutes or until the comb catches what is left of a mat. I suspect that until that point the comb has a caressing sensation on her back. Anyway, the mats across her shoulders are almost out, with only the remnants of a couple left to work on. Then we start on her hip area. The comb has two sides and one should start with the wider teeth initially, then once the fur is in shape switch to the finer teeth side. I don’t know why or how but this comb works.This dematting comb removes all that loose fur so that new mats will not form if I brush her regularly which I intend to do. One reviewer mentioned getting fur on the soft handle. I didn’t have much of a problem in that regard but the few fur strands that did stick rinsed right off. Regardless, I’d still want the soft handle since many cats will move around which would make it hard to hold a hard handle. The brush I was using had a wooden handle and it fell out of my hands several times when she abruptly decided brushing time was over and hopped out of the way.I highly recommend this dematting comb for brushing and removing mats from short fur. It would be wonderful for also brushing and removing tangles from longer haired animals. I don’t know about how this would work with long hair after mats formed as that might hurt the cat/dog. However, a quick call to the company could answer that question. I love this dematting comb and my cat mostly tolerates it so that makes this a real winner. I’m projecting that by the end of the month, we’ll be mat free. Highly recommended.

This grooming tool works great. I have a longhaired dog that starts matting up a week after a grooming. I have tried other combs and dematting tools that work ok but require a lot of time and effort, she also (the dog) does not care for the pulling and tries to get away. This tool requires less effort and is much more comfortable for the dog. Having the coarse and fine side also helps. A great tool for a good price.

Two large dogs, and surrounded by Moorland, and rough farmland. Ours dogs inevitably come back from their walks with bits of bramble, mud and debris in their coats. Can be a nightmare as the Setter hates being brushed. Our Lab has a thick double coat and thankfully enjoys being brushed and pampered. After a number of years dealing with matted and knotted coats (despite our best efforts) this dematting rake is a revelation. Gentle and so easy to use on both dogs. Even the Setter is very happy that we have purchased this high quality rake, and is looking so very smart now.This is a brilliant tool, and works a treat. Matted hair, and knots are no longer a problem.I have also purchased another rake for our daughters Beardie Collie who lives on a farm. It is just fantastic for keeping her in tip top condition.I highly recommend this rake to everyone, no matter what breed of hairy chum you have. You will not regret your purchase.
