I have tried just about every barrier balm, cream, ointment I can get my hands on lately. This one is good, it has a nice consistency, it’s more of a dry touch balm than an ointment, so it doesn’t leave my face greasy or anything, which I love. I just feel like I still wake up feeling slightly dry and tight on my face when I use this, and that doesn’t happen with some of the other barrier balms/creams/ointments I’ve tried. I’m going to use the rest of it as a hand cream!

I ordered this First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Rescue Barrier Balm for my face, and I intend to use the remaining balm on areas of my face that dry out during the winter, but I was really impressed with how quickly the First Aid Beauty balm reversed the damage I caused to my hands from overwashing and too much sanitizer.There’s been a lot of illness around me, and I might have been washing my hands in an obsessive way. My hands needed a rescue before date night and I slathered on this balm for two consecutive nights overnight and covered up with cotton gloves. After the first night my hands looked much less red and irritated, and after the second night, I could say I wouldn’t be embarrassed to show my hands in public. The tiny red cuts were gone and the irritated flaking areas were calmed.The balm is a little thicker coming out of the tube than I was expecting, but I have no trouble smoothing it around, and I like that it doesn’t have a greasy feeling. It goes on easily and is undetectable when I tap it on my fine lines under my eye.
