Great for Camping, too bulky for backpacking imo
I purchased this to use on a backpacking trip where I was bringing my three teenagers. I needed something that would charge 4 phones for 4 days so the solar was a requirement. What I found was a mixture of good and bad.The Pros: The multiple charging ports came in handy. This power bank holds a decent amount of charges. We were able to charge 4 phones and our speaker multiple times through. The solar panel is the size of the unit itself and so you are able to get as much solar charge as possible without resorting a power bank with a separate fold out solar panel. Its super rugged and can handle being tossed around on rocky terrain. The clip came in super handy as we clipped it on the outside of our packs to charge while hiking.The Cons: This thing is really too large and heavy for a backpacking situation. If you’re wanting to minimize weight, this thing would not be your best choice. For a solo trip, I would not need that much battery and would swap this out for a smaller lighter option. The solar charge takes all day. Once the initial charge is gone, the solar takes a long time to charge so you will want to leave it in the sun all day to keep things charged.Overall this is great for camping or for backpacking with a group but wouldnt use on a solo trip.
