Good Sense is always ridiculed
I am purchasing this book as a guide to quantities and uses of the referenced foods. I live in a small, rural town and often many foods are not stocked in our grocers. However, 6 of the 12 foods recommended I have used or have seen locally. In a larger city with health food stores and larger fresh markets, the rest should be easy. As far as cost – two bags of potato chips can set you back nearly $7 and look at the nourishment they provide. I Looked up the nutrient value on each item listed. Amazing. Anyone with commen sene would realize that these foods are healthy and beneficial.I’m beweildered as to the negative review here – “probably a sham”, “questionable credentials”, etc.? The only severe critics of Dr. McKeith (academic degree, not medical) that I found on the Net are MD’s. Since when do they support anyone that’s not a fellow “doctor”? It’s only recently that physicians have even recognized nutrition as a preventive health venue. Dr. Dean Ornish was scoffed at on public television when he presented dietary changes in heart patients and diabetics. The panel of physicans said their patients would never comply and it’s easier to prescribe drugs. And now, 20 years later what is the name of the game? Healthy diets! Give me a fresh salad over a pill any day! Wake up non believers. Burning witches on hearsay is supposed to be over. I like her t.v. show, too. It was quite a wake-up call.

Must read …
Anything written by Gillian McKeith is worth reading, IMHO. She makes a great point that we need to eat ‘living’ foods as when the food is heated (too long) or frozen, the life is taken out of it, so to speak. Glad I heard of Gillian while channel surfing and came across “You Are What You Eat” on BBCAmerica as this little woman has totally changed the way I see the relationship of food and my health. As Gillian says, “You really are what you eat … and absorb”. Good book.

Great information, laid out well
Great information, laid out well. You can skip chapters, go back and forth on the topics that are important to you. Easy read not overly complicated in understanding how to help heal yourself from the inside. I also respect the fact that she does not endorse a certain product you “have to use”. Very general. Highly recommended if you are wanting to look for ways to improve your overall health.

Living Food for Health
I would recommend this book to anybody wanting to make a change for the better to their eating habits. I have learnt a lot about food combining and the importance of reading any labels on food purchases.

A BLESSING
I followed the super simple guidelines in this book to the letter for 6 months and by the end of that time I felt re-made if you will .People said I looked 10 years younger and I noticed my skin glowed but more than that I felt lighter and enjoyed a general effortlessness and peace. This book has been my one and only ‘go-to’ book on nutrition ever since .It has helped me heal myself and others .I am so thankful that this book came into my life and now know that optimal health is a bookstore away !

Great book for food buying
This book gives you clear and concise instructions on what foods to buy, what combinations to buy, and what foods to avoid. While some of the foods may be a tad difficult to acquire, most stores have the majority of foods she recommends. This is not a diet book. This is a book that makes you look at food as fuel rather than comfort or rewards.

Living Food for Health
I began to question some of the claimed internal results of eating certain foods while reading the book. Reading some other reviews on the web confirmed my opinions. Dr. McKeith (questionable qualifications too) may have some opinions but offers no real proof and some real questionable ways of analyzing deficiencies. She claims research backs her ideas but gives no proof and uses questionable sources. While we are offered video accounts on TV of her results but these are skewed subjects. They are astounding garbage eaters, almost any diet of nourishing foods would probably achieve the same results. The book is probably a sham.Allan Hammer

Best Seller!
A wonderful resource on how to eat and transform your health. A simply guide to eating right. Bottom line, “Processed” and “Manmade” foods cause disease. Making the right choices in diet, is critical. Dr. Gillian McKeith takes you on down that path, on how to attain optimal health thru eating living foods.

Mr. David Neil Tait –
Hi,This for me is one of Gillian’s best books. Her writing style is fantastic and get’s you to think far more about your health, your body and more importantly what you put in it.I have incorporated a few things from this book already into my diet, things like quinoa porridge and sprouting.I believe if mroe people followed the advice given by Gillian the world would largely be sick free and full of healthy vibrant human beings. There is good reason why Gillian has a 2 year waiting list for her patients!! There is alot information in this book,it’s packed with ideas and recipes, hints and tips,i find myself referring back to it time and time again. The foods mentioned in the book you owe it to yourself to introduce into your own diet.Alot of this book for me was common sense but we often become so disconnected from our place in the grand scheme of things it’s good to get reminders once in a while and this boof is one of them.Give it a try!!

The book was genuine (I had one before) but it had some marks on it that I found off-putting.Returned as I expected a new book, but would recommend if you don’t mind a pre-owned book as the price was v good.
