I like the breadboard drawings as it allows many to go from the circuit diagram to implementation. Recommend for all.

Wasn’t anything nearly interesting for a n00b
You should consider adding a components list where one can Reuther salvage the items or be able purchase them since RadioShack is no more, plus most of the surplus electronics stores too are now scarce. Used to be a couple warehouses like Mar’Vacs, etc but unless someone is willing to purchase the stuff in bulk it’s meaningless to attempt to learn anything anymore. Plus generating sounds especially low end police sirens are not anything I could possibly utilize anyplace. Besides I already have an Unitrol Siren control box for that.

Doesn’t explain circuits.
The author states that the circuits were picked off the Internet and only the breadboard layouts are copyrighted.That’s the value added— breadboard layout. There is no explanation of how the circuits work.There are many 555 books. They contain a big overlap of circuits because there are just a few basics that demonstrate the basic functions. They all show the breadboarding. And… they all explain the circuits at some level!I really recommend spending your money on something that teaches you about circuits.

Sorry to say the book was ok but myself being a late starter to breadboard circuitry I found a lot of nessessary parts very difficult to find. Especially parts similar to 555 timers .
