Good Quality Rental
This textbook was in good condition and at big savings. I previously order rental textbooks and the condition of them was less than acceptable. They had previously been wet and the pages were stuck together and very hard to turn. This textbook I am reviewing was in good condition and very easy to use.

A textbook
It’s a textbook that’s allowing me to do my course work. It’s expensive sometimes, but it is worth it for my education. It’s even a good read for anyone interested in the subject matter.

Item not in New condition
I don’t have much to say about the textbook itself since I bought it for class and it will do its job, but I bought this item new and it has noticeable damage on the spine of the book. It also did not come shrink wrapped.

I survived reading this.
This textbook was so disappointing. I leafed through it when it arrived, saw all the pictures and sidebar information, and started looking forward to a genuinely fun and interesting class. Boy, was I disappointed. Once I started actually reading the text, my hopes plummeted. By mid-semester, I could barely crack it open without my brain shutting down. Drinking coffee helped me stay awake, but nothing could make this remotely enjoyable. The material isn’t so much about the history of radio, television, movies, etc.. Although that’s covered, there’s much more verbiage devoted to technical details, rules, regulations, and the evolution of business strategies around broadcasting. Fascinating material, possibly, for someone planning a career in the field but, for me, it came across as a solid barge full of dry information I won’t ever need to know. If you like reading about ratings vs. market share, you may well enjoy the pants off this book. I wish I could offer more concrete examples, but not even the prospect of reselling the book to recoup a few bucks could deter me from shoving it deep down into the trash can as soon as I completed the final exam.I’m still giving it two stars because I think it could’ve been worse if they’d tried harder. If your upcoming class requires this textbook, I wish I had better news for you. You do have my sympathy. 🙁
