Best book for beginners that want to know more about transistors
This is the best book for beginners who are already familiar with basic electronics and wants to learn more about the basics about transistors, amplifiers and op amps as it covers a wide range of topics. However, if you are an absolute beginner, meaning you don’t know what a capacitor or a resistor is then this book is not for you. You could try the book “teach yourself electricity and electronics” by stan giblisco first.

Excellent text
This is the book I was looking for. Learned it all back in the 70s, but wanted an exhaustive and understandable text to take me through it again. If you need to understand electronics and not just coding this is where you should start.

Overly complicated, overly priced.
The book doesn’t give enough examples showing real numbers and values for complex equations. Most of the time it’ll just show an overly worded equation. Okay, how about you give me real values so I know I’m actually doing the work and analysis right? This is the US version of the book. The rest of the world gets the Global Edition, which is the exact same book except it’s only $40 and they changed some of the even problems slightly so your forced to buy this overpriced version. Good luck trying to search online for answers to see if you’re doing the calculations correctly. While the odd answers are in the back, almost all of the answers found online are for the Global Edition. The older versions of the book are easier to read and take in, less complicated and as such the older books don’t weigh ten pounds in your backpack. Like most Pearson books, it’s overly complicated when the material could have been conveyed much, much easier and lacks information where it counts.

Had to Buy it, Never Used It
Took the plastic off but never even opened the book.Another case of a professor saying I needed this to pass the class, but never made it necessary to use

Well written, but the publication needs to be improved
After reading 2 chapters: the explanations are clear, but problem sections have errors and i can’t find any errata for the book. The troubleshooting problems MultiSIM files (at least for chapter 2) are missing from http://www.pearsonglobaleditions.com/floyd.

It is a long time since I studied electronics formally and therefore I wanted a good textbook to revise various topics and and go over those which I have not used or studied. This book is excellent and should prove useful to practising and students of electronics alike.

Super blij ermee
