Comfortable protection
This dental mouth guard is an effective solution for teeth grinding & clenching. A well-fitted guard provides comfort and durability while reducing jaw strain and preventing enamel damage. Boil-and-bite is easy to mold for a custom fit, though initial molding may take a few tries. Was uncomfortable at first, but I did get used to sleeping with it in my mouth over time. Overall, it’s a great investment for protecting teeth and improving oral health. No more waking up with a headache and jaw pain. And it stays put in my mouth all night.

Durable and effective dental guard
I’ve used this dental guard a few years back and needed to get a replacement. The actual directions are very easy to follow and leads you thru the process very nicely and clearly. The design is great in that you do not have to handle the hot mould itself. The mould is easy to do and there are two trays to mould so you have a spare. Price was good. I love the dental guard as I don’t wake up with sore jaws or teeth damaged, and it helps me not to snore. Very easy to clean, nice storage container for travel and teeth feel great. Very effective protection for my teeth. The dental guard is very durable and has held up nicely.

Seemed Like a Great Fit Until the Next Morning [[Non-Returnable Item]]
I’ve been wearing night guards for years to help with nightly clenching and grinding. I’ve always used the Dentek guards but thought I would try out this front teeth only guard.I’ve always dreaded having to fit a new Dentek and sometimes it doesn’t go super well. I will say the fitting process for these SmartGaurd guards is really well thought out. The first one went so well that I formed the second as a backup in the same session.I thought things were great. It was a tight comfortable fit and I felt it conformed to my mouth better than any Dentek I had ever used.Until the next morning. I woke up and my lips were really dry because my mouth couldn’t close while I slept. But the worst part was how my teeth felt. It felt like someone had spent the night trying to pull my top and bottom teeth out of alignment. They felt bruised and all day I had trouble chewing and even just closing my mouth. It felt like my tope and bottom front teeth were misaligned. The next night I tried my backup guard and while the next morning was a little better the problem was still there. It’s been two days since I last wore it and my teeth still feel a little out of whack.I’m not sure why it happened but it may be due to the thick hard bottom plate of this SmartGaurd. It doesn’t allow the top and bottom teeth to rest naturally. Also this gaurd is so thick and it wraps around to the top palette so any chance of speaking intelligibly with this guard is gone. As I said above I’ve been wearing night guards for years and this is the first time I have had to take it out tom simply tell my wife good night.Maybe this is better for people with bigger mouths (I’m a 40 year old male), but it just didn’t work for me. I’ll be going back to the Dentek or something similar.

Works great but not exactly as advertised – tips so you don’t repeat my mistakes
Overall, this is a great product. I started clenching my jaw really hard when awake and asleep due to stress and anxiety, and noticed headaches and jaw pain as well as teeth shifting a bit. My dentist suggested this product specifically and I can definitely see why.At the same time, molding these is a delicate and incredibly annoying process, and I have had no success in getting them to fit as advertised.First, it took me 4 guards (2 packages) to get anything close to success. I paid for 4 and only got 1 to work, and here’s why. The directions tell you to place the guards into just-boiled water that’s sat for 15ish seconds. The guards is plastic, so if it touches the side or bottom it will melt and meld into whatever it touches. The directions tell you to use a fork tine to pierce these, but a fork tine doesn’t work. You need some sort of magical long, thin, metal toothpick type thing. Because the fork tine doesn’t pierce through enough, the guards pops off in the hot water about 20 seconds in and then bobs around. So 3 of these melted or bonded to the cup and were instantly unusable goo. Also, it takes way more than just one dip into hot-cold water to mold it (that’s oversimplified, since you soak for 50 seconds, wear & form for 90, then soak in cold for 15). Took me 8 repetitions of the whole process (8 kettles of boiling water) to get it to finally fit my mouth fairly well. And that’s the other part of it – I can’t get the guard to fit snug enough so that it won’t fall out overnight. I can shape it enough to where it sits fairly firm and stays in place, but not enough to where it would stay overnight. So I do not wear the guard at night since it doesn’t snap into place. I tried several times and woke up to find the guard on the floor. I do wear it frequently during the day while working at my computer, reading, cleaning/cooking, or driving. And it’s a huge help since I clench my jaw unintentionally pretty much around the clock.Tips that may be helpful:1 – yes you want very hot water to soften the mold, but it will melt if the water is too hot. 15 seconds post-boil may not be enough to wait & it’s better to repeat the process multiple times than ruin multiple molds2 – don’t use insulated cups/container for the hot water. I used a porcelain coffee mug that retained the heat too well, and the molds melted. Plastic worked better.3 – whether you use a fork or some sort of long tine, you definitely want it to be metal because otherwise it will melt4 – spend a few seconds shoving the fork tine into the guard as far in as you can before starting. This is the main way you can maneuver the mold & prevent it from melting5 – If you have sensitive teeth, consider putting a small amount of sensitive-formula toothpaste on your teeth or gumline before putting the hot mold and cold water on your teeth. The heat and cold hurt, especially if you repeat the process multiple times. A small amount of toothpaste won’t affect the molding process.6 – the cleaning solution packets are great. Brushing this with toothbrush & toothpaste daily also works. But clean it somehow.7- You can always repeat the initial molding process to tighten up the guard if needed down the road.

I don’t use much unless stressed but it works when I use it. I did notice this one cost me near double to the one I purchased just a few years ago. But of inflation due to market forces there I note.

I am happy with this product and It is doing what it’s made for. It took my a couple of attempts to mould it to my mouth though. It’s a little tricky

Love it. Used now for six days, works great. A bonus is my teeth were so unaligned I had chin way back from front lip in just 4 days my jaws are aligned with my teeth, and stay that way all day. Never knew would help me have an even chin line. I have trauma caused Fibroma on my tongue from grinding teeth and tongue. I haven’t bit tongue since mouth guard. I followed directions exactly and it is a tight fight stays on till I pull it off. And best of all plastic excellent quality. Very happy I tried this one. It is not uncomfortable I forget wearing it most times.
