Peace of mind for a modest price.
I bought this UPS unit to supply electricity to my powered recliner in the event of a power failure. I experienced such a power failure a couple of years while i was sitting in the chair in a partially reclined position. Since the footrest was automatically extended, I had no easy way to get out of the chair by myself (my wife helped pull me out). I should have bought this UPS then, but I put it off. A few weeks ago, I was forced to take action. I was sleeping in the recliner for a couple weeks due to back injury when we got a warning about an ice storm headed our way the next day. I wasted no time in placing the order for this unit and Amazon responded by getting it to me the next day. After fully charging the battery, I tested it by unplugging the UPS from the wall and running the recliner up and down while no one was in it. That worked fine, so I got in and did full recline followed by full upright, which also went off without a hitch. There is a tone that sounds every few seconds when the power goes out, which switches to several times per second when the battery is nearly depleted. This is the only way to know if it is time to stop using the UPS to power the recliner until the battery has been recharged. The UPS appears to have ample power to take care of the recliner for many days. Its relatively small footprint and discrete height helps it to remain fairly inconspicuous in our family room. It met my needs in full and I only wish I had bought it sooner.

    So far so good.
Usually I buy APS brand but my last two models have gone dead far too quickly and are as expensive to replace the battery in as it is to just buy a new one. A friend of mine recommended this brand after I mentioned needing a new UPS and I figured that I’d give it a shot.I’ve already heard it click into use numerous times while I work on my pc. Since I work from home and my house has trash electrical wiring, it’s necessary for me to have a backup power source in case my desktop pc is on when an outage happens (and they happen pretty much daily here)So far I’ve had this guy since December and it’s mid feb when I write this and it’s working perfectly. I suspect any issues will occur (if they do) between 6 months and a year from when I bought it, and since I write reviews all the time I WILL come back and edit my review if this unit fails me for some reason. But 2 months in and 20 or so outages so far and it’s been a dream. So far I tentatively love my new UPS.

A superb value in a UPS- Go buy one!
An excellent value. I use this to protect my work desktop and personal desktop. It brought a new level of stability to my systems. My previous surge protector would cut power to my work PC I work from home, so I need my system to be stable and reliable. This unit is an excellent value for the money., I currently run my work PC and my PC off of this at the same time, and stability is above reproach. Thinking about getting one for my Home Theater System. If you need a great UPS at a low price, then definitely consider this one

    Confusing orientation of mounting holes
Three things I don’t like about this UPS:1. There is no template for mounting screws. No big deal to make my own, but still how hard would it have been to print this on the instruction sheet?2. Mounting hardware is not included, nor is the type and size of screw recommended. A little trial and error and a found a couple of screws and anchors, but still, it the little things.3. Back to the mounting holes. The are orientated the WRONG WAY. If you use them, the writing on the front of the UPS is UPSIDE DOWN. This is true for both horizontal and vertical mounting. Again, it’s the little things.Other than that, UPS seems OK.

Always protect your heavily invested technology at home! I have this set up in my kid’s game room and have his xbox, tv, gaming router, hard drives, and computer connected and whenever power goes out, his stuff is still working up to 30 mins later. This will help you with any surges, brownouts, and power outages from destroying your devices.

    I count on Cyberpower now
I have a small business and a home and therefore a lot of electronics and stuff. I have all manner of CyberPower UPS units slim to rackmount. I just over the years CyberPower has been reliable. I switch out batteries every four years. I have two of these at home. One for the router and computer stuff and one for the playstations and TV the spawn use. Solid.

    Doing its job
Using it to supply power to powered loveseat that has Bluetooth built in. Working great. Layout of plugs works great for this. I believe uninterrupted power supply helps things last longer and run better due to go smooth flow of current always.

Great for protecting TV and PS5 from power outages.
I live in a rural area where we have frequent power outages due to strong winds. I bought this UPS to protect my TV and PS5 from getting fried and so far it’s been put to the test a few times and has done a great job for what I need it. As I’m writing this review we’re going through outages and this thing allowed me to safely turn off my PS5 before any damage could occur to the system, particularly the hard drive. Would recommend, just make sure the UPS’ capacity can handle your devices’ energy needs.

I live in Quebec where the power company suffers from constant brown outs and even longer cuts, black outs. 20 second break in power this morning and everything hooked up to the 3 of these I bought carried on working. No more changed IP address on Internet routers, no more reprogramming of light timers. I have bigger UPS systems for larger power consumers but these little guys removed the agro from Brown outs. Well worth the money.

I asked the Amazon community a while ago about if anyone knew how big the internal circuit board was for the Cyberpower SL700U battery backup? No one could give me an answer and since this unit seemed to be the smallest, most compact design for a larger 700 watt backup supply on the market, I decided it would do for my purposes.I am writing this review not as an end use of the actual device, but to re-purpose the battery backup’s structure, it still functions as intended, just in a different package and I believe that customers may like to see how these units work as well as how they can be modified (yes, you will void the warranty)I make computer hard drive backups and restorations every 2 months, for myself and others I help with their operating systems, so I use an external data backup device: Startech SM2DUPE11. Previously I used an earlier model that could not do NVMe style drives but was still efficient and quick. When backing up data of any type, it is best to have a power supply that won’t fail on you else you may lose your destination drive or corrupt the source data if you have a blackout. The UPS is the answer. The duplicator needs a home, so a good solid case to carry and store it in makes sense. Last, the UPS, which I integrated into the case, adding in a couple of features and using components to replace the circuit board mounted power switch and power LED indicator light. I decided to add in a power receptacle in case I needed to plug something in while doing the backup off site.Designing the layout on an acrylic plastic board and then drilling, cutting and filing out slots and holes, modifying the two heat sinks on the Cyberpower SL700U’s circuit board and adding in a separate 12 volt DC power supply to power two small 40 mm fans to cool those two heat sinks I shortened, all of this needed careful planning on how to arrange everything. The Startech duplicator’s power supply adapter also needed a parking stall in the layout. So after removing it from it’s case, and trying a few positions with two slimmer 6 volt batteries to power the UPS during a power outage, I had my plan. The original Cyberpower battery was 2 inches thick, and obviously I could not use this effectively if trying to place it flat inside of the carry case I used, the Nanuk 910 case. I found a flatter, 1.3” thick, 6 volt battery to use, but I would need two of them instead of one. You can replace a 12 volt battery with two 6 volt ones if you connect them in series. This gave me the advantage of increasing the amp hour rating from the Cyberpower’s 5 amp hour 12 volt battery to 7 amp hours for the replacements. My project took a while to accumulate all the needed components, all ordered through Amazon, and once I had replaced the short battery cables on the circuit board with lengthened ones, and soldered on wires to connect the switch and LED light, I was ready to assemble. The photos show the SL700U disassembled then it’s circuit board being put together and mounted to the underside of the acrylic plastic board. I consulted with the Startech technical support to confirm that their duplicator being placed so close to the UPS power supply would not cause any issues in its operation and they confirmed that there should be no problem. The project is done and my SL700U powers my duplicator station, protecting this investment from power failures as well as surges during normal operation. I am pleased that I chose this particular device, the Cyberpower SL700U, as it was a great compact design that I could incorporate into my plan and provide power for the nominal 60 watt power usage of the duplicator. This should prove me with many years of service.Hope this helps you decide if the SL700U is for you.
