My four year old absolutely loves this! She learned how the bricks worked in no time and it’s super easy to use even for little ones down to age 3!!!Highly recommend this toy to anyone who wants their kids to be more code based in their playing.Good value for money high quality wood and toy overall.Size was a bit smaller than expected but works the same.Really fun and engaging especially if you buy the whole set. Creative toy
This is such a cool concept! We’ve had a lot of fun playing with the cody block. I had no idea this was a thing, but we’re obsessed with it. It’s made well and helps kids have an outlet for thinking creatively.

Take a Little While to Figure out, But a Great Intro to STEM
My 5yo son is on the spectrum, and like most kids he really likes motion and the theory of motion. I thought this would be a great alternative to playing with small die cast cars and monster trucks. It was a little difficult to figure out exactly how to make it move and change direction, but once you do it’s really cool. Especially when the Cody comes to a halt at the “home” block.

    Awesome toy!
Cody is so neat! I have no idea how the technicality and mechanics of it actually works, but somehow the blocks send a signal to the car, and that message directs him to perform the action. You easily stop and start driving by attaching or removing the top of the car. I love that it’s rechargeable too.. no batteries! The possibilities are truly endless with this set. I also purchased the U-turn set, and it adds even more fun. I plan to get the rest of the extra sets as well. This is an awesome toy that both kids and adults can play with together (or alone of course). It provides a great intro to coding that gets the kids excited to learn and play without them realizing they’re learning difficult things. The quality of all the blocks and care taken for packaging is top notch. It seems a bit pricey initially, but it’s totally worth it.

Incredibly innovative — but a little pricey
This toy set is incredibly unique and innovative. The designers and creators deserve a big hat tip for their creativity. My son loves playing with the car and making it turn. However, I wish the price included at least one or two more programming blocks. This set is clearly designed as a starter kit that requires expansion.I appreciate how it introduces programming and coding concepts to children in a logical and basic manner, sparking their interest and curiosity. Overall, it’s a well-thought-out and exciting toy. I hope to expand the set as my son grows older.

Kudos to the designers for this innovative toy.
I have to be honest, when I first saw this toy I didn’t know what it was and was confused by the price point. I’m really glad I showed it to my husband and asked what was going on. He almost immediately geeked out and said that if it is what he thinks it is, it is totally worth the price. When it came in the mail, he wasn’t disappointed. For these toys to work as slick as they do, with such sharp turns and flawless execution, the programming in the main toy has to be really tight. He is a software engineer and he can appreciate that kind of work. The fact that such advanced technology has been matched to simple wooden blocks is such a novel thing. They say this toy is for ages 4+, but from a safety standpoint, I think it is appropriate for younger children, and I think a bright 2-year-old would be able to use this toy and start learning the basics. We homeschool and I’m really excited to learn about the technology behind the toy with the kids and for them to create puzzles for each other. I will likely get some of the expansion sets next year with our school funding. It isn’t often that my husband gets excited over toys we get for the kids, so seeing him get giddy over these blocks was rewarding for me.These toys are very high quality. They’re the kind of toy I’ve seen at children’s museums. The kind of toy I’d expect to see in high-end schools/day cares for kids. They’re exceptional quality. Don’t let the simplicity in the aesthetic design fool you- the technology hidden inside is first class. I really love it! I’m optimistic that all of the kids will be excited to play with it, but I guess we’ll see on Christmas morning. They’re in for a real treat!

    Novel concept
The Cody Block starter set came well packed with easy to follow instructions. I plugged it in to charge immediately. The USB charging cable does not come with a plug, but I just used a phone charger plug. We used this for about an hour and it still had power. Setting up the route was pretty easy when following the instructions. It was fun watching Cody follow the path. Although my 6 year old granddaughter set up the path accurately, Cody sometimes missed his mark and he overshot the target. She was able to track his movements and adjust the turn signals ahead of him. If you don’t get the blocks set up right, the car will just keep on going until it hits something to stop it. She also just liked following the car, as did the cat. At first it took a while for Cody to start up, as the instructions said, but we felt like the longer we used it, the faster he caught the signal. After she got the hang of it we started putting the turn blocks farther and farther apart. This is when Cody would veer off, even when the blocks were set up accurately. The starter set, as the name indicates, has a very limited number of options for setting up the course, and my granddaughter got bored after about an hour, which is actually a long time for this activity. She wasn’t interested in playing with it for a second time within a week. I will probably purchase an add-on set to spark her interest. I think this toy is novel in that it has simple wooden pieces, but with technology hidden inside. While I think this toy does teach basic coding concepts, I’m not sure that it is more effective than a simple remote control vehicle. I honestly don’t think an older child would spend a lot of time with it.
