A much better box than I expected, very inexpensive for the quality
It looks very fancy. It seems sturdy, with a wood sound when rapped and a leather-ish finish over the wood. The clasp lines up, the sides meet well with the lid, the hinges are fine, the fake buckles are fairly well aligned (see photo), and the velvet-paper interior seems well-attached (altho not quite flat in the curved corners under the lid, so may wear there over time). The metal hinges have a mechanism to keep the lid from opening more than about 90ish degrees.It should handle toys or gaming stuff (cards, miniatures) or whatever and be good to carry by the handle. I wouldn’t store my socket set in it. The handle seems quite well attached.It goes very nicely with the fancy fountain pens and journal notebooks I’ve bought, even using the same sort of clasps. Perfect for such a usage, looking good on my desk. Not quality enough to gift to your friend to store his Rolex collection in, but it’s $25, ya know?I’m not sure what QC problems others experienced, but I’m pleased to say that it seems even better and higher quality than I expected.

I ordered this chest to enclose a gift. I purchased my child’s teacher different stamps to use when grading papers. I ordered 12 different stamps, a 4″ X 6″ stamp pad, and ink refills and used this chest to keep it all together. I was surprised with how sharp this looked. There was plenty of room for the stamp pad and all the stamps and refill ink. It made a beautiful gift and I am sure she will treasure it. It appears classy, and looks more expensive than it is. The clasp worked well. I would highly recommend this if you are looking to impress without breaking the bank.

Interesting little box. I opened it having read many reviews on here telling me just how bad it was. I was not interested in it’s durability as I bought it to house items for Christmas as part of the wrapping for the present, but I was surprised. My box is well assembled, appears to be quite tough, opens closes seamlessly, and appears to be good quality. Unlike other reviews here, I think it will last a while. I wouldn’t buy it to travel with, it is certainly not designed to be moved around or be durable for that, but for sitting on a shelf and holding small items, it will do the job, and look great doing it.

it’s a nice little box
At first glance, it’s a nice little box. However, it is cheaply made and a closer glance will tell you exactly what you paid for. One of the back hinges is crooked and I’m not sure how much wear and tear it is going to take, even though it seems sturdy. The outside of the box is nice looking enough, except for two visible screws just below the handle. The locking mechanism fits snug, which is a plus. I picked it up for the first time and found out that the bottom velvet wasn’t stuck on properly, so it is already starting to peel off. I still intend to use it for the purpose I bought it for, but I wouldn’t buy it again. If you’re looking for a better quality chest, do not purchase this one.

I was pleasantly surprized when I ordered this little valet chest for my husband. It is a very nice size and keeps all his pocket items, watch and rings in a dust free case. It looks good on the dresser and doesn’t let all the things he doesn’t use every day get all dusty from sitting around. We live in the desert and it is very very dusty here. This is ideal for this envoronment. The quality is excellent and it looks like leather.
