Works better than expected
I wasn’t expecting this to work so well. A lot of sports and concerts don’t allow tripods, but this gives you a nice form fitting grip with a cold shoe that makes it’s easier to record those longs event. The light is also great when doing selfies and interviews when paired with an external mic.

Fits like a glove. Put this on my Galaxy S 23 Ultra. The grip is comfortable, better than trying to hold the phone without it. Pairs easily. Nice that is has a remote button to take pictures. Light can be enabled by pressing down the button on the holder. Hot shoe on the top and a screw mount on the bottom. Cool toy. The light is attached to the holder and will not break off easily.

Good but Could Be Better
I need this smartphone camera grip for our upcoming epic vacation. I have seen enough dropped and broken smartphones that it makes me worry about dropping mine. I am careful but sometimes things happen. I don’t want to let a broken smartphone ruin my time.This Ulanzi smartphone camera grip has a strong elastic-tensioned clip that is able to securely hold my Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max (with a protective case). I prefer this clip over a magnetic attachment as I am confident the smartphone will not accidentally slip out. The camera grip will make your smartphone slightly heavier and more bulky. That could be a problem if you are used to slipping a smartphone into a tight pocket.Out of the box, pairing the camera grip remote with the smartphone via Bluetooth was simple and easy. The remote is held in place on the camera grip by a magnet and by a couple of indentations on the body of the remote. The indentations keep the remote from sliding off. A negative I found with the Bluetooth is it will disconnect from the smartphone after 5 minutes of inactivity. There is no indication on the camera grip that the Bluetooth has disconnected. You will know when you try to take a photo and nothing happens. To reconnect, you will need to hold down the remote shutter button for about 3 seconds. For this reason, I minus one star.On another similar Ulanzi product, the MA35 camera grip, which I purchased for my wife’s iphone, it will go into sleep mode after 15 minutes of inactivity and disconnect after 30 minutes.The camera grip allows me to hold the smartphone and take photos with one hand without worrying about dropping the smartphone.After our trip using the camera grip extensively, I will update this post if I have additional information.

Wow product
I usually carry a bulky camera when going to a function or dinning with friends and family. But ever since I got this wonderful attachment, my life has been so, so, easy. Now I can take a picture with enough lighting and picture are also studio quality. OMG I love this product and will definitely recommend it. Buy one and you will thank me later.

Stopped working only after a month
I bought this to augment my ability to use my phone for inspection photography documentation as part of my job. I used it 4 or 5 times over the course of 1 month taking around 300 photos or more during each session using the bluetooth photo capture button. I tried using it today during my inspection and the bluetooth module would not turn on. I also could not get it to recharge the night before. I suspect the battery has stopped working or malfunctioned, which is unacceptable. The fill light operates and charges separetly. This portion is still working.As a troublshooting note I know that the bluetooth device was never fully depleted since it always automatically turned off after a few minutes of idle time.I wouldn’t have minded if I at least got 1 full year of usage or 50 sessions. I don’t recommend this product and will look for an alternative brand. It’s terrible shame since it had great potential.Also the design would be better if the bluetooth and fill light were integrated into the same battery and power button. It was a pain to need two usb charging cables to charge the light and bluetooth.

Great little addition to make phone photos better
I love the ease of use of this product! It goes on my phone easily, the light turns on easily, & it pairs to my phone easily. The photos get the extra pop of light that is needed, especially whenever the background is bright. I recently used it at a St. Louis Blues game to get good photos of my friend & I after the game & it was so much easier to do with the light!I haven’t put it on a tripod yet but I’m excited to do so! And I love that I can hold it like a real camera! (All of this is coming from a professional photographer, haha!)

Would be 5 stars except the clip is too wide and presses down on the Google Pixel 8 Pro side buttons in what would be the best position for light proximity to macro subject. Sliding the clip down works but then the light doesn’t give full illumination in macro. Struggled to pair the first time but now is fine.

Right off the bat, you’ll notice how strong the gripper is. On a larger phone, you really have to force it open. But once its on, it grips strongly and securely to hold the phone. I hope it retains its grip, I don’t want to drop my phone. Theres also a rubber backing and grips to hold your phone without damage. You’ll have to find the right position on your particular phone for your preferred grip and operation. I really like it and its very easy to use, and makes the camera easier to use…no more touching the screen!. The bluetooth connection is quick and easy and the detachable shutter button is amazing. Reconnects quick and easy with the built in magnet. I love the built in fill light! Three brightness settings and one button operation. Great feature! The overall non-slip texture is nice too.
