Greatest value proposition for a digital watch
This watch might just be the greatest digital watch in its price range. I got it for its travel utilities but it has quickly become a watch that I wear the most frequently.Pros: very easy to track multiple time zones and switch time zones. The alarm, timer, and stop watch functions are great and easy to use. The watch is also durable, and it comes with 200m of water resistance which is really rare for this price range. I have played sports, snowboarded, and showered with this thing and it doesn’t show any signs of wear. The 10 year battery life is also a great advantage over other digital watches. I personally love the design of the watch and thinks it looks cool even though the layout may not be the most functional. I also appreciate how you can mod the watch to upgrade the case and glass or add some customizations to the colors, dials, etc.. the watch also wears pretty comfortably on my wrist and the links are fairly adjustable.There aren’t many major cons, but here are some minor complaints: the bracelet is a cheap folded link design with stamped clasp. The folded link feels cheap and can squeak and rattle. They may also tug on arm hairs if you have a lot. When trying to take the links out sometimes the connecting piece can be stubborn and you really gotta force it out causing marring in the process. But the bracelet does wear comfortably enough and seem durable. For the price you really can’t expect more. The bracelet would be less of a big deal if the transition from the case to the strap width isn’t so large. You almost need to buy an adapter or tailored straps otherwise the sharp transition from the square body to the skinny strap looks awful. Another con is the backlight. The backlight isn’t the best, but it does the job. I wish they would have given us more adjustability on backlight duration though. Your only options are 1 second or 3 seconds which isn’t nearly long enough imo. You also can’t hold down the light button to extend the light time. The light button is also used in setting time so you can’t really set your watch in the dark either. Lastly, the case material is cheap plastic and the glass is acrylic, but again there are mod kits that you can buy to swap to stainless steel and sapphire.Overall, despite some of the small annoyances, this watch is probably the greatest value digital watch in existence. This would be my first recommendation for anyone looking for a functional time piece.

Makes me feel like a spy
This watch is great looking not the fanciest but it is very functional, the world time works took a bit to figure it out but eventually i did and once i did i fell in love with it more. I ended up picking up one for my friend who really likes this watch. Though this isn’t my daily driver it is durable for the money, i use a G-shock ga-2100 daily and it is still better then this watch which is a little more pricey but makes sense for what you are getting.

You have to press hard the button to hear the beep. Gave it to my nephew and he immediately went into the pool and pressed the buttons under water…, 1 week later and the watch is still fine.

Great watch
Apparently, this is kind of a cult classic, I just like it because it has a 10 year battery. It has all the basic functionality you need. Plus it looks kind of cool with the little world map and the little radar display. For $24 or whatever I paid for it it was a great deal. Alarm timer stopwatch multiple time zones, etc. just a solid functional watch. Be aware the case is plastic. It has Silvertone silver paint I believe, but it is plastic. The strap is metal and works well enough.

I originally had the all black resin version of this watch, and I ended up getting rid of it as I didn’t feel much of an attachment to it. After seeing this version of the AE-1200 on quite a few wrists, I figured this would be a great watch to get, as I don’t have a whole lot of watches that have metal bracelets. Plus it was my birthday when I made the purchase for this watch, so it was perfect timing to get a new watch.Upon getting this watch, it arrived in great condition, despite being an open box deal from Warehouse. The bracelet came standard, as it seemed to be untouched and hasn’t had any adjustments made to it. I had to search up a YouTube video on how to adjust the bracelet, and it took some effort to get the right size for my wrist (my wrist is approximately 6.5 inches), but it ultimately came out nicely, and it wears nicely on my wrist. It’s not too difficult to adjust the bracelet if you have the right tools for the job.As for the features of the watch, they’re quite useful and you get a lot of them for the price that this watch is priced for. You get a world time function, 5 alarms + hourly chime, stop watch feature, and countdown timer. The alarm has a decent volume. The backlight on this watch is a nice amber coloured light, which you can set for either 1.5 seconds or 3 seconds. In addition to the world time function, you can also set 3 separate times on the Home Screen alongside your home time, and you’re able to skim through them at the touch of a button without having to change to the world time mode. The map is a nice touch too, highlighting the corresponding time zone based on the city you selected when setting your times.The size of the watch is approximately 42 mm in diameter, so it may be a big watch for those with smaller wrists, but for my 6.5 inch wrist, it’s not too big.I’d also say that this version of the watch wouldn’t look too bad to wear during a formal occasion as well, as the metallic look gives it a more dressy look. So it’s a very flexible watch to wear for both casual and formal occasions.100 metres of water resistance is more than enough for the average person, so this watch is capable of taking some splashes. However, since it isn’t dive-certified, one should take caution when taking this watch into the water.The only flaw that this watch has are the materials. The bracelet and case-back are stainless steel, but the case itself is resin painted in silver (similar to the case material on the black AE-1200). This was probably done to keep the costs lower, but, it’s not a problem for me.Overall, this is a great watch for the price it goes for, and I’d say it’s worth the purchase. Only time will tell how well this watch will hold up.
