Absolutely Could NOT Be Without This!
*Edit – Here we are, a little over three years later and, I have to say, my slide board is still in perfect condition, the finish allows for easy an sliding transfer and it has no problem whatsoever supporting my ever-increasing weight. I’m no longer able to get myself to any kind of standing position so there’s no way I could possibly transfer from my recliner to my power wheelchair without this, (or something like it, obviously). That’s not the only place it gets used but, definitely the primary location.I don’t know how I could have possibly thought that I should’ve gotten the shorter board when I wrote my original review other than just being that much skinnier and stronger then but, I could NOT be any happier with my choice going with the longer. With a shorter board you could find yourself facing a much steeper rate of incline for your transfer in some situations. If you’re looking at this because you’re having trouble transferring from seat to seat, (and that would probably be a fairly safe assumption), I can’t recommend it highly enough. It has the strength and durability to do the job that it was made and marketed for, I absolutely love it.*Previously – My disability is getting worse and worse all the time. I like to force myself up to my feet to transfer if I can but, that’s just not possible all the time, so I need something like this on hand. I’ve only used it a handful of times but, so far, it’s worked well for me. My only gripe is on me, I feel like I should’ve got the 24″ one instead. Probably if I had I’d be saying I should’ve got the 30″.

Very very sturdy.
This solid wood slider is wonderful and helps my wheelchaired bound mom make transfers easily to the bed and car. I love how it’s solid wood and I have no fear of it breaking. It takes a while to get used to it but once you do, you’re good to go.

Transfer is no longer a hassle
This slide board has become a saving grace. I no longer have to lift or physically support my care receiver and I am not in constant fear of his falling. He is able to use his arms to slide across the board . He doesn’t have to put weight on his legs which don’t support him. We use it to move bed to wheelchair, wheelchair to chair, chair to shower seat. Board is very sturdy and easy to slide under his bottom.Plus, he feels he is making progress and is in more control of his movements.

ease of use
This is a really nice board, but the handholes are so far from the board ends, makes it a little difficult. It’s quite thick

Life Changing
My husband was stuck suddenly with symptoms of advanced metastatic bone cancer we didn’t know he had. One day he could walk, next day he could not. We were oblivious to how amazing a transfer board was and my daughter and I were literally picking him up and putting him into his wheelchair. An inspired PT picked this out and showed us how to use it and it has made it where my husband can move himself to where he wants to go and that is a win win!!!

shipped with poor quality assurance
I had to carve and sand one corner of the board to ensure my wife would not be scratched while using the board. The whole point of this device is to enable safe transfer from bed to wheelchair and back. Apparently, after the board was sanded and surface treated at your company, someone dropped it on a corner and splintered the edge, annulling the most critical feature of this device. And yet, you shipped and charged for it anyway. It will be safer now, no thanks to you!

Looks safe
The board was shipped in bubble wrap therefore there were no scratches or splinters in it. I haven’t tried it yet but I think it will make my transition a whole lot easier.
