worth it, even though this is expensive cat food. i was sent a bag by mistake, so of course i used it and ALL 8 inside cats (7mo-15yrs) ate it w/o any issues…NONE! fast-forward through months of bargain shopping, barfballs, stinky litterboxes and i keep going back to ‘THIS ORANGE bag’ reluctantly due to it’s $$…WHY?… they actually eat less! their fur is shiny & slicker, they don’t graze all day, they are more energetic and best of all- the aftermath doesn’t smell half as overwhelming as (so far) all the ‘other’ brands they’ve been subjected to, (and several of them don’t like to cover! i use Tractor Supply’s equine pine pellets (LESS than $6/40lb bag!) My six house cats are all getting up there in years and have gradually evolved into enormous couch potatoes, with their primary form of exercise being the walk to the food bowls. And, we were also seeing an increase in fur balls. Obviously, something needed to be done, so I began a search for a grain free reducing diet. I was thrilled to find that Blue Buffalo had a grain free cat food that not only served to help the cats lose weight but also helped control fur balls. Prior to this point, I had not fed Blue Buffalo to the cats or the dogs and had been purchasing Merrick for some time – so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I wasn’t able to find a Merrick cat food that covered my particular situation, so I decided to give the Blue Buffalo a try. Miraculously, *all* of the cats absolutely *love* this Blue Buffalo Wilderness formula…. and if you have a multiple cat household, you probably already know that there’s always somebody in the bunch who will turn their nose up when you attempt any dietary changes. I haven’t yet been using it long enough for evidence of weight loss; however, either the fur ball problem has notably diminished – or they’re hiding the evidence of those inside a pair of shoes. This is a cat food that I would absolutely recommend to a friend. Brands such as Merrick and Blue Buffalo are of course pricier than what you can buy at your friendly local grocery store…. but if you take the time required to thoroughly examine what’s actually *in* the cheaper pet foods versus the more expensive brands, you’ll realize that the high quality foods are *so* much better for your animals andworth every extra dime!

Two cats: One cats eats to live (female longhair, 10#, sweet but finicky) and the other (male, 12-13#, med hair, very confident, strong) lives to eat. Moist food in the morning and this in the afternoon ( a scant 1/4 c for female and scant 1/3 c for male). My goal is to feed them healthy food while keeping the cost reasonable. They love it. No hair balls or barfing. Stools healthy. Win win for all.
