This battery jumper doesn’t have any unneeded frills. It jumps your battery if it’s dead and it comes in a small and light package that’s easy to store in your vehicle or transport to another one. There are a couple of useful features that separate this from other jumpers.First, they call the cables that attach to the battery terminals “smart battery clamps.” They are called smart for a couple reasons.First, it warns you if you hookup them up to the wrong terminals and have the polarity reversed. (In other words, you connected the positive clamp from the jumper to the negative battery terminal and the negative clamp from the jumper to the positive battery terminal.) If that’s the case, a red light will illuminate showing that the clamps are attached to the wrong terminals.Second, if the light is solid green when the clamps are attached to the battery, you’re good to start your vehicle. If the light flashes green, you need to press the “BOOST” button and wait until the light turns solid green, then try to start the car. This is necessary when the battery voltage is below 9V. If no light illuminates, it signals that you either didn’t attach it securely enough to the battery terminals for a good connection, or possibly the battery could be damaged.Initially I didn’t see the BOOST button function in the instructions, but I emailed the manufacturer and they promptly responded how the button functions and where to find it in the manual.This comes with a charging cable (USB-A to USB-C) but no charging block. I checked how many watts it pulls from the block, and it only needs about 15 watts to charge at full speed. Nearly all modern charging blocks can handle that amount.It has a flashlight that can be activated by a long press on the power button. It has a solid light initially, then another press activates a strobe light, another press initiates an SOS lighting pattern, and pressing it again shuts off the light.Last thing to note is that you can also use it to charge other USB devices, such as your phone or tablet or portable tire inflator. In my case, I don’t think that I’ll use it, even though it’s nice to have in an emergency.This should have enough power for any typical car or SUV. If you have a very heavy duty commercial vehicle, it might be worth searching out a more powerful jumper.

Starts vehicles, Battery Capacity ISN’T a lie, NEEDS larger gauge cables though!!
I saw this and had to give it a test. Coming from a NoCo GB70 i figured this would be an absolute mess of a product like a lot of these cheaper jump packs are! I honestly was a bit surprised!First off it DOES start vehicles! If you DONT have a DAMAGED car battery (internally shorted, extreme sulfation, or discharged to absolutely nothing) this shouldn’t have an issue starting most vehicles that would use a 500-600 CCA, however i doubt their claims of a 9L gas engine. Considering some of the largest GAS engines are 7L and have around a 700CCA battery a 9L would (if it existed) require something like 1,000CCA or more. No way this could do it, especially with the PUNY cables on the jump leads! As for DIESEL engines. It MAY be able to turn it over BUT if its COLD out it would have to drive the grid heater or glow plugs. These take a LOT of power, your looking at 200A or more (220A on a Cummins RAM grid heater). This is WAY too much current for the wire size on this jumper lead! These leads are literally 10AWG (printed right on the wire) which would NEVER support the draw from a grid heater when its rated for 30-40A!SO… If your car is not damaged and just needs a jump start because of a low battery this WILL work. However, if you plan on cranking on it for 10+ seconds this will NOT work!I did successfully start a 4.0L Jeep Cherokee that ONLY had a dead battery and no other issues multiple times in a row with NO issues! By the 5th time the wires were warm to the touch. NOT hot by any means but you could tell there had been some current flowing.This really would make a much better jump pack with a jump lead that had better wires! It would be any easy change too since they are a plug in style jump lead (unlike the hard wired ones in my NoCo GB70).SO, what about the battery life. Its rather misleading for them to state that it is a 3000mAh batter at 14.8V (the actual battery pack voltage) but a 12,000mAh battery “at 3.7v”. This is just marketing hoopla to make it more comparable to the OTHER over rated BS marketed units on Amazon. However, when testing the battery pack capacity through its 5v USB output i was able to pull 7,304mAh and 35.1WH, its advertised capacity is 44.4WH. This is probably one of the more honest examples of battery capacity that I have seen and falls right in line with what its Nominal capacity is (3000mAh at 14.8) and what its rated capacity (the actual usable capacity of the battery) is along with a bit for efficiency losses for the voltage step down circuit for the 5v output!In conclusion, this really isn’t a terrible booster pack! If you are on a budget and just want some reassurance against a dead battery from leaving the radio or lights on then this is a good option. However, if you have a car with mechanical issues that doesnt start right up when you crank it then this may not be a good choice. These packs werent designed to have a car cranked forever while you sort out a fueling or spark issue! With its good battery capacity though it may make a good emergency pack for your electronics that “just happens” to be able to start a car!
