Worked well on my 1999 F250
Fit my 1999 F250 Super Duty like it is supposed to. Like all of the Fords of this vintage there is some modifications to the dash that are necessary. I have done several of these dash kits and usually I have to cut all the way around to allow fitment for the bracket. This one all I had to cut was just top and bottom. Radio fits great and holds tight. The kit comes with a filler panel/bezel to go around the radio to close the gaps on the sides but I ended up not using it because it didn’t fit my radio. Honestly unless you know it is there, you don’t notice it though. I’m happy with the purchase.

Works on 2004 F350 XL
You have to trim some excess plastic (top and bottom) as the F350 does not have a true double din, a dremel makes it go quick. Wires lined up perfect. Did not use the bezel but did use the two black side pieces with hardware from the cheap head unit I bought.Dont forget to buy butt connectors before you start!!!

Easy to assemble, perfect fit
Used this double DIN kit to replace the factory head unit on my 2002 Ford F250 Super Duty. The kit easily attached to a Sony XAV-AX150. I had to trim the bottom and top opening on my Ford for the Sony to fit (this was clearly communicated in the Sony information). The kit and Sony snapped into place and looks great. Would recommend.

Generally good, but a pigtail didn’t fit
Generally, this was a good set. My only complaint is that the smaller pigtail connectors did not fit my vehicle’s wiring. Fortunately, my vehicle’s audio system worked without it, so I didn’t bother returning it.

Under engineered but can be great
When you Google search double DIN install kits for a 1997 model year Ford Ranger, it seems this is the preferred unit. God only knows why. I found it to be a complete pita and had to modify the kit itself to work. Yes you will have to grind/file/sand the upper and lower lips of the center dash piece for it to slide in. Make sure your corners that are ground are perfectly 90 degree clean corners, no rounding.Because the unit is in 3 pieces plus rear support piece at the back of the radio. On its own, it was flimsy and difficult to get the front plate piece to clip on after the sides were screwed onto the radio. Sooo, I bought a 2 part epoxy – JB Weld 15 Minute Plastic Bonder- and applied it to the joints so all three pieces could set up as 1 piece. I let it sit at least a hour. Pain in the butt, but worth doing. Lastly, because of the front face piece design, I had to file down the back side of the upper and lower lip (see pic) because it was not sitting flush around the Pioneer AVH-521EX and was preventing me from naturally accessing the buttons on the side of the radio. I could not have ground it down without gluing the pieces together, it would have been too floppy. I used a 1/8” piece of flat steel as a guide when I was grinding so it would be consistent thickness. . After all this I had to finally modify the rear triangular support bracket that was too short to attach to the rear of the radio (by .5”) to the inner dash bracket. This installation kit is under designed/developed big time, but if you’re as stubborn as me, you too can be happy with the results. Oh hahaha, forgot to include that even though it says it will fit the vehicle I bought the kit for, the harness adapters for the wiring were completely wrong. Like not even remotely close. Came with 3 harnesses, truck only takes 2 and the design is totally different. Fortunately I was able to adapt the outgoing Kenwood harness to work but that sucked.

do not buy for 1999-2004 f250
Not sure about other vehicles but this is not a great choice for my 2003 f250. faceplate does not seem to fit right from the start and is too large to fit in the factory opening. Do yourself a favor and buy the metra 95-5817 for a clean and easy install.
