Infromative book
Really I liked this book , it was for my wife , she is interested in such topics , so I bought it for her as a gift , she admired it , but the amazing thing , that I liked it too , it is written in easy way , clear easy language , and direct information with scientific accuracy , without losing the simplicity .. really good and in depth if you want to (understand) the Formulation of Natural cosmetic , it will let you understand why many products contains antioxidants (as an example) or what is difference in structure and function between rosemary oil or extract or even between emulsion and cream , this is fascinating valuable knowledge for us , it is not a recipes book , you should understand that

Great Reference Guide – Really Pleased with My Purchase
I am really pleased with this purchase and will certainly be buying myself a “coffee table” version when it comes to print!It absolutely is a definitive guide for beginners – it is very thorough and detailed in its descriptions -and helped me gain a better understanding of terminology and theory in an easy to find A-Z format.Although it doesn’t contain recipes there are some free bonuses that include a super useful global suppliers list and some examples of product formulas. I haven’t really started formulating seriously yet so I am looking forward to getting stuck into the 5-day formulation mini challenge that is also included with the book bonuses.I can see myself referring to this book time and again and maybe buying a few as gifts!Great value book.

This is more like an encyclopedia in that it doesn’t really give you examples on how to actually create skincare and cosmetic products. But it does have a lot of useful information on various important aspects of the process. Would recommend as it is a useful guide to become familiar with different concepts! Only complaint – I noticed several spelling/grammatical errors which I found kind of ridiculous. Shouldn’t they have an editor? Lol

Great reference for cosmetic formulation terminology
I just downloaded the Kindle version of this book. Have noted some negative reviews complaining that there weren’t enough recipes included. The book is a tool for understanding natural cosmetic formulation terminology. You will see that it is described clearly what the book encompasses on the description that accompanies the page for this book on Amazon. So, some of the complaints I see here from reviewers seem unwarranted. If you see in the book, there is a link to their website to download: 1) A global supplier list, 2) Example product formulas, 3) Customizable product development brief, 4) Five-day formulation mini-course, 5) other helpful resources, to be sent to your e-mail address, once you have purchased the book. I for one have gone to the internet for numerous natural recipes for skin or hair care, but would like to understand more thoroughly how to formulate my own customized recipes, if possible. This book is a great tool, and a step for me, in that direction, while not yet sure I would want to invest in a full course to learn this.

This is 1/2 information and 1/2 very heavy handed, take my course at school of natural skincare. There is some good info here, but you have to fight through the ” we have taught thousands…” bill to get to it.

A must-have for the beginning formulator
Someone above wrote a review that said they were disappointed because this was not a formulation class…it is not designed to be! This is clearly sold as a reference book, and is very well organized. For the beginning enthusiast, it gives clear definitions of terminology, lists different sorts of ingredients, terms and processes. For the more experienced formulator this will still be something that you will want to reach for, to recall a point you might need in your research. A book that should stand the test of time, build confidence in readers, and is such a great price for all of the work that has been thoughtfully put into it.

Absolutely loved this book. A one-stop guide for all formulators. No need to further search the internet to try and understand the mumbo jumbo of technical terms. This book covers everything you need to know in order to formulate your own products. I am presently enrolled in the certification program and I may add that this book is an added bonus. The information in this book is very easy to understand thanks to Gail and her team. Awesome job!! A must read.
