Great cover for an outdoorsy German Shepherd and a Tahoe
UPDATE: Oct 2017: so I bought this in 2015, and it has driven across the USA and Canada to Alaska three times, endured three winters and summers with two German Shepherds and their muddy feet, puppy potty training accidents, spilled food and water, and the three of us car camping for a couple months. Against manufacturer advice, I’ve washed this many times…many many – because it has gotten a lot of heavy duty use. It is only now starting to wear down. One of the four clamps on the straps is cracked (but still works) and the non padded material is thinning (but still works). I’ve abused this more than most people would and washed it more than is advised, and it has exceeded my expectations and impressed me with its durability. I intend to buy another once this one is no longer functional, though I expect this will still work just fine through one more Alaskan winter.Original Post- Dec 2015: Works nicely. I have a young German Shepherd who loves to be in the middle seat of the tahoe and this seat cover works very well to protect the leather and seat belts from the dog. It was super easy to install, is a great fit, and is easy to clean thus far. We are driving from New England to Alaska in December, so a durable seat cover was a necessity given the 200+ hours of winter driving time the dog and I will spend in the tahoe. Thus company did a nice job designing the cover – and it’s American!

EDIT: Have had for almost 2 years now and is in exceptional condition. I just sweep clean occasionally and spot clean when needed. Has no rips or stains. Went through 3 in a year before i decided to buy this one! I’m sure this could laat another few years. So far so good. I have had the seat cover for about 3 weeks now. I will update if anything ever changes.The 4-K-Nines seat protector works exactly as described. Two seat anchors hold the bottom portion secure to your seats. They easily pop right into the crevice in your backseat…wow. Coupled with non-slip backing that all seems to be durable with good stitching, keeps the bottom surface incredibly secure. This is the most important aspect of any seat cover so that your dog can keep his/her footing.The buckles and straps are heavy duty plastic. They are adjustable and secure to the back headrests. Also, if your choose to use the hammock feature, you can attach the other two straps to the headrests of the front seat to create a barrier between front and back. I usually dont use this feature unless I walked my dog in the rain and I dont want any chance of him climbing up front.There are side flaps that protect the side edge of your backseat. They are only about 4-5inches long but add to the overall value of this product and keep your backseat even more protected. I actually tucked the side flaps into the plastic trim of the door frame and the cover looks completely seamless.In terms of materials I am sure this thing will hold up to use over time. Keeping your dogs’ nails trimmed is always a good idea and may help prolong life of this too. The nylon material is thick and waterproof, I like the fact i can just brush sand and debris right off of it and out of my car. The quilted pattern makes this seat cover very appealing and looks expensive. My only suggestion to the company would be to add slightly more padding to the bottom of the cover (it is still thicker than every cover i have seen though) to encourage dogs to settle and lay down. Sometimes i still put a bed back there on long trips. If i didnt have to, this cover would be a one step solution to making your backseat perfect for dogs.I havent used the seat belt openings, but they are velcro and can be completely shut to increase waterproofing for your back seat. The whole cover is so easy to put on and off and usually takes me about 2-3 minutes, so I take it off whenever i have passengers in the back.I would highly recommend this cover, i have gone the cheap route and have regretted it in the past. The durability of the materials, heavy duty buckles, non slip backing, seat anchors and overall functionality of this cover make it worth the money. I paid around 70 i believe. The WARRANTY also was very appealing to me and lets me know how the company stands behind their products. They havent done anything too different from their competitors, they just have perfected the details that make this a 5 STAR seat protector.

FINALLY! NO gassing-off!
This cover arrived with no fuss (Canadians ordering can rest assured) and a big plus for us was NO GASSING-OFF! The materials used in making this product produce an odourless result. This is something I found to be a huge problem with previous, inferior purchases.Here are our observations:1. The cover comes well packaged with no gassing-off. That smell you often experience with cheaply made, inferior quality goods (ala Dollar Store) … not here!2. The fabric is of great quality and soft enough to not yield that constant “nylon-scratch” you often get with covers when dogs’ nails scratch it … the quilting provides strength and gives it a good look, too.3. There is sufficient padding to ensure no claws pop through the cover.4. The little rubber dots underneat provide some traction to prevent slippage (in our case this want enough, but from other reviews here, very few people seem to have the same experience as us in this regard.)5. The loops that pop through the backseat slots work VERY well … there was absolutely NO slippage from the back of the seat.6. The cover worked well to repel dust, mud, water etc. with no “wet-dog” smell, which means it wicked moisture away, but let it dry quickly, too.7. The clips to secure the headrest restraints seemed quite robust to us … I think some people don’t clip the female portion in alignment and this likely leads to breakage. Also, remember that you should always HOLD ON TO the entire clip when tightening. That goes for any such closure on backpacks etc.8. The reinforced stitching and patch around the cover where the loops attach are strong … I don’t see these giving way under any amount of pressure.9. The hammock portion is generous enough.10. The side flaps worked well to protect the sides of the seats and also a portion of the trim of the door (great when dogs are hopping in).11. The seatbelt velcro areas were generous and sealed well.12. Again: a very good-looking cover. And the Doberman modelling it is darned handsome, too!The ONLY “negative”, was we found a few technical glitches, but they were because of our particular needs: we use crash-tested harnesses on our dogs that require the seatbelt to be fully clipped in (shoulder and lap portion).Despite our issue, the Customer Service was fantastic! I had been ill for quite some time and wasn’t able to start using (or then return) the cover within the (completely reasonable) timeframe – they were so understanding and kind … and offered a full refund AND more! Thank you 4Knines for creating a superb product and for your very kind response when we wrote to you.I gave this product 5 stars because it does what it says it will do, is of superior quality, has superb customer service, thoughtful additions AND … no gassing-off!

Great product, nice thick material and actually fits the width of our truck and protects the sides of the seats from muddy feet too! Can’t attest to the durability as I’ve only had it installed for 4 days, but I don’t have any concerns since the fabric and stitching are both excellent.

Super easy to install and fits the back of my Rav 4 perfectly. I like the hammock option. I live in a wet climate and often my dogs are super wet and muddy after a walk. The cover is great in protecting my seats no matter how wet or dirty my dogs are. Also, the top fabric is soft and comfortable for the dogs, unlike some other covers I’ve had in the past where, in order to keep it waterproof, you end up with a cold, rubber like material. Highly recommend!
