    Saved our breastfeeding relationship
I used this for 7th who had heart surgery at birth and had a feeding tube. I couldn’t breastfeed until he was 2 months old, and this system helped him gain weight. I used it twice a day with a total of 1 1/2 oz. I could not have breastfed without it. It was easy to clean, and boiling took care of germs. Lasted the whole BF journey. I appreciate how big the straw and the flow options. Much better than Medela.I do recommend tapering off of it when the teeth come in and feed baby solid foods.

    Okay Depending on Goals
This was flop for me. My baby won’t stay latched after the initial letdown, so I use a SNS to keep baby at breast and milk supply maintained. With the Medela SNS I’m able to keep a ample milk supply with a total of 15-20 minute feed(8 minutes of pre-tube time, then additional 8-10 minutes). This is necessary because anything less my milk supply tanks and baby stays latched even less. So the cons for the product above:1. The tube is to large, I can barely feel baby latched on to my breast and not just the tube which is preventing baby from actually stimulating my own breast for milk. With the tube being to large, also causes milk to flow very quickly, not only did it cause baby to choke alot but my TOTAL nursing time dropped time 9-10 minutes, which is very bad in our case.2. Speaking of milk flow, the flow controller is absolutely worthless. It has 3 “speeds” Fast, Sludge, Nothing”. If I try to roll it even a bit, it causes the milk to jam and myself or the baby can barely squeeze it through the tube anything less and it’s flowing quickly again.3. The tube is very short, making it rather difficult to find a place to nurse baby and for the bottle to sit. Now, there are some Pros.1. I bought this specifically hoping the tube would be bigger(and then I could continue using the flow controller for continued use) and allow thickened formula to flow through that I needed to use temporarily., and I’m certain this would of worked just fine for that. So if you need a tube that is larger and quicker flowing this is perfect.2. The tube is thick and sturdy, while this caused some cons for me, it was also the most secure of any tubing I’ve used and didn’t move around a lot.3. Once I found a place to sit that worked with the shorter tube, this was the most hassle free SNS system I’ve used. Nothing dangling from my neck or unclipping from my shirt. The baby stayed distraction free and wasn’t grabbing and pulling at the tube/bottle. So honestly the design here was really great. So ya, I’ll be switching back to Medela because this doesn’t meet my purpose(keeping baby at breast longer) but overall it’s not a bad SNS if your goal is just get baby feeding at the breast.

Only way I can get my baby to supplement
My breastfed 6 month old stopped gaining weight, so I started trying to introduce bottles. I’ve tried every different bottle nipple I can find, and he just won’t take it. I finally tried this SNS system and at first he was popes to having this little hair-like tube in his mouth but after a day of figuring out how to stick it in his mouth while nursing, he became indifferent to it, then I added in some formula as he was nursing and HE TOOK IT! I was so excited! He has since consistently been able to empty whatever I’ve put into the silicone bottle, and the flow control is what makes it work. At first, I left the flow controller all the way open, and he hated it and would keep pulling away, but once I figured out what the right flow rate was, he was content to nurse and receive formula through the tube at the same time. One thing that helped a lot was to mix formula into some pumped breast milk in order to slowly introduce him to the different flavor of milk. Now I can do straight formula while he nursed and he doesn’t even mind.Cleaning the tube is a bit awkward, but right after I’m done using it, I put hot soapy water into the bottle and squeeze the bottle to squirt it out of the tube for a couple of minutes, then I rinse everything and repeat again with clean hot water. I don’t want milk to have time to dry in the tube before the next use.The tape that comes with it was not very impressive, but there’s a little magnet tether that has been super helpful to clip it right to my shirt and hang the tube between my breasts so it doesn’t keep falling as I’m focusing on keeping the flow the right amount with the little flow adjuster.

    small tube impossible to clean
difficult to thread through the slow/fast modifier, which is okay since you don’t need it, however the small tube is impossible to clean. the thing comes with a cleaning brush but it only fits in the larger tube. terrible design, which is a shame since it works in theory

This tool saved my breastfeeding journey
I don’t usually write reviews, but I felt the need to write about this tool because I had a very hard breast-feeding experience and this tool saved it when I was about to give up. It’s not very easy to use and not as clean as the media shows. However, it helped my baby latch from my breast and within about a month, I got rid of it. I used it with the shield and I advise those who do to look up some YouTube videos on how to use it with a shield.

    Did not work for us
I was so excited to see this option for an SNS. It’s the least expensive on the market. My baby is 1 week old and was 8 lb 7oz at birth. I have a low supply and supplement at the breast for as long as I can with each baby. Until today, we’ve been using the syringes and feeding tubes from the hospital as well as the Medela SNS. I tried this one today and my baby did not like it. He tolerated the tube for a couple of sucks, but I struggled to get the flow right and baby struggled with the feel of the tube in his mouth. My fantastic nurser would not stay latched on this one. I had to switch to a different one to finish the feeding. I love the idea of this. It’s super easy to clean. The bottle is a bit big, but it wasn’t difficult to manage. The tube is just too big for my baby. Maybe he won’t mind it as much when he’s bigger 🤷
