Wish we found this years ago!
Wish I found this product years ago! We’ve been using a plastic tube cyphon type system where you have to hand pump it inside the tank to try and get it started, and so difficult to use and so frustrating! This product is SO easy and works with very little effort and really gets all the gunk! I highly recommend it! We also have gravel, not sand so can’t review on how it works with sand.

Good siphon, great for bare bottom, but will suck up sand
Luigi’s fish tank cleaner/siphon:Summary: Bare bottom tank 10gal- works great, quick water change, sucks up debris.Sanded bottom 10 gal.- don’t get too close to the sand or it will suck up the sand.Review:I had been using this siphon for over a year now on a 10 gallon bare bottom quarantine tank. Worked well for water changes and removing uneaten food, waste and debris. (At one point I attached a foam paintbrush onto the end of the siphon w/ a rubber band. Worked well to clean the bottom of the glass while the siphon sucked up mostly what ever the foam brush got off the bottom.)I more recently wanted to use the 10 gal. quarantine tank as a grow out tank for Hiplisoma pandas. (I never had to treat the QT tank so i figured I would use the same supplies). After hearing from an expert cory breeder that they should grow up not being on a bare bottom to prevent bottom fin decay, I added sand to the tank when I made the conversion. This siphon still works great for water changes but not so great for trying to vacuum the sand b/c boy does it suck up sand. I know the product is made for gravel per product description. It sucks up less sand if I disturb the sand to get the debris up and keep the siphon an inch or two above the sand. Still sucks up a little but much less than trying to use the siphon to disrupt the top layer of sand.It does suck up water quickly, especially in a smaller tank, but physics and all. When I purchased this siphon it was just under $10, which seems like a good price. This siphon is still going strong at this time.

Perfect!
Wow I was really worried that I would never find a product to vacuum the gravel of my small 3 gallon tank but this was amazing. I am so happy i got it. It looks cheaply made compared to the old one I had from aqueon tho, so I am hoping it will last .

Made my life so much easier
It’s so annoying cleaning tanks and the section just randomly stops and you have to start again. The hand pump makes that not an issue. It works really well. It’s super basic. Nothing crazy to it.

Great small siphon
I bought this to drain water from my outdoor water fountain before the freeze. It did a great job, easy to use and price point was very good.

Product didn’t work
I purchased this based on the stellar reviews. I was highly disappointed with this product. I attached a video and I am pressing it with left hand. You can see how flimsy the product is. The photo is showing you a reference as to how long the tube is. I have a 55 gallon aquarium and you can see if you put it into the water to reach the gravel, you have limited hose to reach out of the aquarium.I attempted to use this today when I got it. The first attempt, I was able to stir up the gravel and get some of it cleaned. It was maybe 5 minutes and I was struggling to keep the hose close enough to a bucket. I was only able to do the front part of the aquarium with how the hose was reaching. I removed it from the tank after getting maybe 2 gallons out of the tank. I tried to put a chair up close to me, to put my bucket on. Put the thing back in the tank and tried to squeeze and squeeze but it wouldn’t siphon any water. Checked to see if any rocks might be lodged, nothing in the hose at all. Pulled it back out to shake and see if I could hear any gravel, thinking maybe the valves are blocked. Nothing.I will be returning this product because something is not right. This is comparable to cheap china made stuff that is typical of Amazon.

Great suction
Did not expect the suction like it did. It even vacuumed up the rocks (I didn’t have the filter it came with on) so after that I put the included filter on and it still worked like a charm. Was very impressed. It don’t look like much but it def will get your fish tank clean and suck that water up with the gunk in basically with minimal pumps

This is a great idea! I have guppies and cleaning the aquarium was always a chore. This item doesn’t suck up the fish and is fast!Cleaning the tank now isn’t a problem

I never write reviews but this works so well I had to share. I’ve tried a couple of gravel cleaners with varying results but this cleaner works amazingly well. So simple and yet very effective at cleaning the gravel of debris. Also very useful for removing water quickly for a water change. 5*
