Prospects say

Prospects discover the boots snug and sturdy. They match nicely, with large sizes out there. The leather-based appears to resist put on and tear, and the boots appear to final a very long time. Many purchasers respect the model. Nonetheless, some dislike the shortage of foot safety and have differing opinions on whether or not the boots are waterproof.

    Really good boot
The price was great and i really like the style. I chose to go with a wide 13 and it fit perfectly. Didnt even need a break in period. Comfortable from the first day. They feel solid and durable. I have no complaints with these boots.

    Great Work Boots
Comfortable and roomy. The steel toe definitely protects you and they’re super waterproof even after putting them in a washing machine (no dryer). I practically wear them everywhere.

Good Boot for the Money, Need an Insole, Some Mfr’ing Flaws
Bought these for a riding boot, always hard to find durable extrawide footwear to keep my skin on in case of a crash. In GA weather they have been fine in summer and autumn, unsure how they’d be where it gets really cold. Comfortable on the top and sides of the foot, but the insole that comes in the boot is basically nonexistant. Started getting arch cramps immediately, so I added an aftermarket insole and this works fine. Certainly a cheaper solution than some higher end boots with cork insoles and the like. Boot is attractive and have got several compliments on them – glad I picked a model where the branding is more subdued than some of their more overtly branded designs. Leather has held up pretty well to wear and tear, slight marking on the left from toeing the gear shifter but nothing major. Waterproofing has worked great in crappy weather. First time I went to pull up the heel of one of the boots by the boot loop, though, the end of the loop pulled out immediately with a minimum of pressure. Boot wasn’t laced up very high and laces were loose in the grommets. From the end that pulled out it looks like it was held in only with a little adhesive and no stitching to retain the end of the loop. Contacted Wolverine to see if they’d do anything to make that right, but haven’t heard back from them yet.

    Wolverine Boot vs. Caterpillar Boot
I have been wearing Caterpillar Mens Second Shift Work Boots for the past 15 years at least and have loved them. I just bought a new pair on Amazon and returned them right after trying them on. I have wide feet and ordered an 8 1/2 Wide just like I had for years and they were tight as hell and the leather part was hard as a rock and they were extremely uncomfortable and unwearable. I was so disappointed and now faced the problem of finding a good comfortable boot to replace them with, without spending a fortune. I started by buying the equivalent boot from my local Walmart and they were okay , very so so , but felt cheap and something about them that I didn’t like the way they looked , so I kept them in reserve. Then I scouted all the options on Amazon and decided to try the Wolverine Men’s floorhand 6″ soft toe boot which looked similar to my old favorite Caterpillar boot. I just received them and they fit great, plenty of room for my wide feet, they were very comfortable to wear right out of the box and I am very happy with them . I also think that they look just as good as the Cats which I really liked the look of. I don’t know how they will hold up but if I am able to update this review six months from now, I will. I hope this helps someone in the same predicament that I was in, looking for a decently priced boot for wide feet that was comfortable and good looking!

Ordered a fine first pair…second pair arrived without steel toes
UPDATE: The replacement pair for the second pair also arrived without steel toes. So that’s two pairs which came without protection in the toe of the boot. I’m done with this line of boots, and possibly all Wolverine merchandise. This review is about my second pair. My first pair got me through nearly a year in my new job, and I’m replacing them because they’re finally starting to wear and tear all over (but the sole and the toe are of course in great shape). As I write this I’m in the process of returning the defective second pair. For what these boots cost, I’m extremely disappointed that these boots arrived without steel toe protection. The toes can be depressed/crushed by the force of just one of my fingers. I’m returning the defective pair but I don’t feel like I should be obligated to do so, given how often I work.

    Not slip resistant as described
Unfortunately, while the boots are comfortable and seem durable, they aren’t slip-resistant at all. Maybe this brand isn’t targeted towards kitchen work, but that doesn’t matter. Don’t describe your product as slip resistant if that isn’t accurate. False advertising. This is why I usually don’t trust Amazon for these types of purchases, but I rolled the dice since they were on sale. Oh well, will likely be returning so, no harm done, just annoying.

I have previous had Timberland classic 6 inch (looked beautiful but the sole peeled away as it was only glued and not stitched) and Caterpiller WP Boots (loves them to bits fro a number of years but they were not indestructible) .I have had these Wolverine Floorhands for a fortnight now – and they are amazing. The construction and look is top. The soft tongue makes them much more comfortable than others boots I have had. The fitting (US10) is a good fit for a UK9 and it is a wide fitting – no more having to loosen the laces to get my stupid wide, hobbit feet in. I did ‘scotchguard’ then out of the box, they have a great colour and they are developing some real character now. I would definitely recommend these.

Pros:- Wide widths – Thank You Wolverine!!! This is my #1 reason for buying Wolverines.- Comfort- Fit great with little breaking needed- Look great, and long lasting leather- Reasonable longevity (first pair lasted well over 10 years of casual use)- Non-marking light colored solesCons:- Amazon – “Lost” the first order. Second order I had to exchange due to size, and Amazon only gave me a partial refund, even thought I was within the stated refund period.- My ONLY con on the boots themselves is the glue down method of sole attachment. My first pair would still be fine – except the glue finally gave out and the leather separated from the sole. Would be fantastic to see a nice Goodyear welt, but alas, we get glue.
