This game is pretty cool and the box it comes in has some nice detail.

Fairly straightforward and but challenging
I wasn’t sure what to expect when I got this as a gift for a Yellowstone fan. We’ve played it once so far, and though we didn’t beat the game, we’re looking forward to trying again.I read some reviews that said the instructions were confusing, but I we didn’t think so at all. It helps to have everything laid out and be looking at the different types of cards. They even suggest which characters to start with if it’s your first time. The player tokens are substantial and good quality. The wooden box is a nice touch.Players do not have to be fans or familiar with the show to play. It’s neat to have to work together, and it does take some thinking, planning and a lot of collaboration to work out how to use your resources.

Not really even a game…more of a meaningless activity…
Positives: The production quality of this game is great. From the sturdy and thematic wooden box to the metal player pieces there was a lot of expense put into this aspect of the game. Even the card art is beautiful; illustrations of the characters instead of screenshots from the show, which would have been much cheaper. It is a beautiful presentation.Cons: There is almost no game here. The “bad” cards slowly encroach on the Dunton ranch. Players have to fend them off by playing enough value of cards of matching symbols. That’s about it. You either have the cards or you don’t. The cooperative aspect allows for other players to help give you one or two cards that will help. But that just means they’ll have fewer cards on their turn to combat the new threats that come up. The playing pieces are gorgeous, but there is no need for them. Each turn you can move to any space on the board. This is one of those games where I hope someone can come up with decent rules to play A game using the provided components. They deserve to be used, but not with this game.
