Really handy for checking air and liquid temperatures. The magnet is great. Backlight is bright . Auto turns off as well

Maybe slightly big, but still fits in a shirt …
Maybe slightly big, but still fits in a shirt pocket and has always proved accurate. Magnet could be stronger and needs one on the back also.

Always klein
I use only Klein tools and this works great. I am a facilities manager and this tool is accurate and well built.

Magnet sucks, reads temps ok
magnet doesnt hold if mounted horizontally. barely stays attached if mounted vertically. stronger magnets would have fixed this issue. reads temps ok. dont buy just because it has a magnet

Now I can test my home temperature
This helps me to check if my home air condition is working properly without having to worry about my thermostat

I got the temp now
Used for water temp in showers and faucets and it works great. Clip is a handy option in your pocket too.

Works-ish
20-year HVAC tech here….I love Klein tools, nine times out of 10 they are great. This is very accurate which is important, But the magnet is pure junk. It does not stick to ductwork, or system cabinets etc because the magnets are just too weak not a terribly difficult fix, I bought a package of neodymium magnets better small enough, and rectangle shaped to glue in place, over where the weak magnets are. Just a pain to have to do that, I sought out the magnetic feature on purpose.

Awesome.tool for hvac
Tool works great for hvac work, reading temperature drop when the registers are in the ceiling with the magnet version (defiently worth the few extra bucks) is super easy. Turn it on stick it in the register an just wait a few for it to read. Back light is helpful in darker rooms as well.

Got a few of these for my staff to check output temps on heatpumps. They seem to be accurate and durable. The hold feature is very useful.

The designer of the battery clip should hang their head in shame. It’s 50/50 chance that every time you pull this out of a workwear pocket you’ll twist the clip and the batteries fall out… not acceptable up a ladder or standing on grids where the tiny button cells will be lost. If it wasn’t for the clip I’d have given a much better review. The accuracy is ok in comparison to calibrated gear. It works well in liquids but can be slow to change in air, a few minutes in static air so it’s not a replacement for a real room temp meter. The display is small, kinda 80s digital watch size, doesn’t like viewed from an angle. It’s tiny unit, the probe is about two and a half inches long. I’m surprised at Klein, I almost laughed at the fact the belt clip/battery holder is patented, like anyone would want to copy that 🙂 A fast reacting, sturdy and water resistant food grade thermometer with a large display and longer probe that takes more common aaa batteries would be a more rewarding to use tool.

Came ready to use. Easy to use, especially with the magnet end on it. Accuracy is very good. Compact, making it easy to store and case protects the probe. Would recommend to anyone, especially diys

Slow to read tempatures on off can be pressed very easily by accident and paid more for magnetic 1 and not even magnetic
