Pioneer Radio Works
Recently purchased a car with an aftermarket Pioneer Radio, CD, Pandora, etc. had no fm radio reception. The guy at a local radio shop I needed to purchase an antenna as the one in the factory windshield would not accommodate the unit I had. Purchased this antenna and the unit works great. Radio shop performed the installation as he needed to remove the radio to make the connection. Took an hour of shop time as he made adjustments to the unit face since it was popping out when the screen pivoted to allow inssertion of a CD.

It works ok for my needs…
I needed something small that would fit in a motorcycle fairing and it did. Strapped it to the side of the radio and it brings in the stronger stations. Works for what I need it for.

Works alright
Bought this in conjunction with an adapter to bypass a broken factory antenna wire. Reception is slightly better than the damaged factory antenna, but does not allow pickup of stations well enough to auto-seek and have the tuner recognize known good stations which come in when directly-entered into the stereo. Might work better in older vehicles with fewer electronics near the windshield and in the headliner, as well as glass with fewer protective coatings.

Worked as it should on motorcycle with no whine!!
Installed on a 2008 Victory Vision to replace a powered antenna that whined terribly. Works great!!

Doesn’t work very well
This might be ok if you live in a big city with lots of strong radio signals but stations I used to get while driving outside of town do not work at all until you get closer to radio towers. I’d not buy buy it unkess you want to hide antenna and you use in in town only

Looking to improve the crappy windshield antenna
Looking at the construction I’m pleased with what I see. Quality and appearance looks good.I have an older classic car that has in in-windshield antenna … that doesn’t work very well. I installed a high end aftermarket radio but that didn’t really solve the poor reception. My OEM daily driver get great reception. So I’ve been looking for an antenna alternative. With a sub $10 price I had to give this a try. Once I get the car out of winter storage I’ll spend some time listening to see if it is better than the stock antenna and report here-in if I’m not happy. There is plenty of wire so that helps with placement. One of the options is behind either the front or rear bumper facia. So the extra wire may come in handy. Other options are high on the windshield or along an A-pillar (FWIW … vertical vs horizontal antenna placement may affect reception. I know that is the case for many RF applications in the ham radio world). Either way, I’ll be able to play with placement given the wire length provided.Note the connector is suitable for older style car radio antenna jacks but may require an adapter if you are using it for a newer style radio. So check the radio’s antenna jack to be sure.
