Great for the Price
Installed this Headunit in my first gen Trailblazer. Fits like a glove with a relatively cheap double din adapter. I had already had an aftermarket headunit installed but it was a single din. (Pioneer MVH-S522BS). My Pioneer had 4V preamp outputs, and I was expecting to have to mess with my gain settings on both of my amps but was pleasantly surprised that I didn’t have to touch anything. Despite the Sony having only 2V preamp outs, it has great sound quality, with no noticeable unwanted noise. The Sony also offers a hassle-free UI, and hardware experience. (Parking brake hook up). Overall, for it being an entry level Double Din Carplay unit, it works very well and is very responsive. One of the only downsides of this unit is the screen which uses a resistive touchscreen rather than a capacitive touchscreen, but it still registers touch very well.TL;DRSolid headunit for the price with little to no trade offs

Very nice radio with good features.
I bought this radio for my 02 Silverado to replace the old aftermarket Sony. Everything works like a charm and I’m looking forward to some JBLs to go with it.

Great upgrade
Replaced stock radio out of 2013 Sierra now I’m up with times. Great radio lots a features it’s an app based system so you need your phone plugged in for some of the features. SiriusXM can work with Bluetooth you can even watch YouTube with WebLink app. Also has more power per channel so it sounds much better than stock.

Great replacement radio.
Bought this to replace the radio in my 2016 Ford truck. The Ford Sync failed and the phone did not work on it, as well as other features. This radio claimed to have built in steering wheel control and would have saved me $120. Nobody including the factory reps knew how to connect it and I had to buy another control. The installer could not be convinced that it was included and I had to pay extra. I did enjoy the radio before I sold the truck and was impressed with the features on the radio.

Good sound, when it actually works…
I’ll start off with the good. It sounds pretty good. Sony’s DSO (which has been around for a long time) adds depth to the sound, plus there’s a 10-band EQ. There are a bunch of EQ presets, or you can make your own, including subwoofer settings. There are also high and low pass filters, 2 levels of bass boost, and 2 preamp voltage output settings for if you use an additional amp. You can also upload custom wallpapers and update the unit’s firmware via USB with a flash drive (though, I haven’t tried either yet), and when I plugged in my phone for the first time, Android Auto automatically set up my Bluetooth. My factory backup camera works perfectly with it and even looks like the field of view is a little bit wider. The unit itself is actually Single-DIN, but with a Double-DIN screen, which gives some extra space for the wiring behind it. Webplay is kind of neat, as it has a feature to mirror your phone’s screen, or play media you have on it already, though this requires an app on your phone and a USB connection. Now to the bad… The screen is really, REALLY dim. If the sun is at your back, you won’t be able to see the screen anymore. There is no brightness adjustment. Actually, outside of sound, there really aren’t any settings to adjust. Android Auto/Apple CarPlay is wired only, and the USB cable is permanently attached to the back of the head unit, which is kind of a pain to run. Also, this unit doesn’t have the plug for an external Sirius XM tuner add-on. The included remote is pretty much useless. I’m pretty sure my last Sony head unit from 2003 had the same one, and it seems like most of the buttons don’t actually do anything because I don’t think this unit has the features.EDIT: A couple of weeks in and it has already started acting up. Android auto randomly disconnects from the USB connection. I tried updating the firmware from Sony, but it didn’t help. One trip, it wouldn’t play any audio whatsoever on Android Auto, Bluetooth, or FM radio. Another instance, it froze up while driving, making the most horrible noise ever until it decided to reboot itself. I definitely got a defective one and it’s getting returned.

My stereo started to have issues with the Car Play and then the screen then the audio. The options for repair are limited. There wasp one place in the city I live in (pop. 95,000) but I’d have to have a hole in my dash for a few days maybe even weeks. Not acceptable. I asked for a refund but needed all the packaging (nobody keeps a room full of empty stereo etc boxes so that’s a ridiculous requirement. My advice: don’t buy from Gibby’s Electronics and don’t by Sony anytrhing. Save yourself the trouble and pay a little more from a local brick-and-mortar store. That way at least you might get acceptable customer service.

It’s ok but no mounting brackets come with it. The sound is ok not great for the price I wouldRecommend buying a boss audio for less money
