This is a 2023 edition, so the info is very current
The Arduino is a great little board, but the information on getting it setup with an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) changes over time. This book describes both the version that you load into your computer, and the online version. After that, it covers a variety of topics, including the an introduction to using Arduino with the Internet of Things (IoT).

Great beginner book on Arduino & C++
I have just started out in the Arduino world and I have had no prior knowledge about these wonderful little computers on a chip. This book by Simon Mork is a great beginners book. The book explains how to program the Arduino progressively using C++ computer code. He makes understanding the code easy by going over each of the main functions in the code, and relating each action in the code to the physical effect on the Arduino chip.

Worthwhile, but don’t discard earlier editions
This third edition is not just tweaks around the edges as new editions of tech books often are, it is more like a rewrite – and a bit shorter to boot. To some extent this is to be expected, given how the world of Arduino has changed since the earlier editions, but the author also seems to have quite changed focus, perhaps based on feedback on earlier editions. Almost the first half is mainly devoted to a tutorial of the flavor of C used by Arduino. Earlier editions have very little on the language and comparatively more sketches and details on aspects of the Arduino like timers and interrupts. The introduction of this third edition says nothing about this shift in focus or the reasons for it.If you have either earlier edition, parts may be obsolete, but I think they are worth keeping as additional reference. This is rare for a multi-edition book.

Very useful book. I have previously coded at a commercial level but not using C/C++Was up and running and completing sketches in a day.I would say it is a good buy to compliment the vast Arduino resources available.I would advise reading the book all the way through before working on examples.
